Unlucky to lose that, may have been different if we had Cisse from the start and Ba as well.

Some positives: Game time for Colo and Tiote, a Goal for Cisse, and Ferguson and Tavernier have bright futures, Elliot looks solid.

Negatives: Gosling, Vuckic, Obertan, Marveaux. Not sure these are the quality of player to keep on the books as we look to progress as a team, but maybe they just need a run of games?

I'm done for the night, will see you back here tomorrow

Sadly not quite so positive about Willo, Gosling, Obertan and Vuckic

Their defence was there for the taking. Shame Marv and Ober can't cross.

Ferguson should be in front of Marveaux at the moment and Gosling shouldn't get near the pitch, shift him to a Championship team and blood in a talented midfielder instead.

Agreed.. Add ben arfa to that then more than likely.. I was impressed with the kids in defence tonight.. Shola is a handful, perhaps not the most skilful but big an experienced enough to cause problems..

Can someone please explain to me why Gosling is getting in the team ahead of Abeid?

Didn't do much, not even mentioned that much, no idea how he got man of the match except that he's Rooney.

Cisse, Bigi (when he came on), Tav, Fergie & Elliott were all big positives. Obertan, Marveaux (gets worse everytime I see him play) and Gosling are sadly not good enough for us and it's not like they're 18/19 and will progress.

Vuckic had moments of quality for me, not ready to write him off yet. Although I definitely think he should go on a season long loan to a promotion chasing Championship team, as should Abeid if he's not going to get games for us.

Mainly, do remember us losing 4 - 0 at home to Arsenal.

Last 6 years our third round matches have been as follows.
    2007 Arsenal (A)
    2008 Tottenham (H)
    2009 Peterborough (A)
    2010 Chelsea (A)
    2011 Notts Forest (A)
    2012 Man Utd (A)

3 of the big 4 away in 6 years and Tottenham were holders at the time <yikes>.

The frustrating thing is we claim some big scalps just to lose against the lesser pack.

We beat Chelsea in 2010 and lost against Stevenage!
