Halibut is a quality eat when nicely battered! We need to start a petition to have an iconic Hull Fish & Chip shop in the concessions at the KC - I hate Hollands Pies or whatever they are. Either that or the street food of Egypt!
The way they cooked the Halibut in Mustafa's restaurant was always my favorite way of cooking, though it must me 10 years since I have been there.
I'm not sure it would be practical to fry fresh fish in a concourse bar, they don't currently do anything they can't microwave and I doubt they could fry and serve fish quickly enough. Pattie and chip kiosks might be more practical, assuming they can install some fryers in there. We should get Old Mill bitter in there while we're at it.
What about peolple walking round selling patty and chips while youre in your seat - a bit like you see in American stadiums in the movies
Agreed - Excellent compromise, although i do think there are ways & means of having freshly fried fish available if the club really wanted to differentiate itself from the pie selling hell holes in the rest of the division!
Instead, the club is doing a pie and a pint for £5 at the Posh match (before 2.30pm or something). I'm not sure whether they will be fish and chip pies, or indeed patty pies
Patty and chips at the stadium would be a pearler of an idea. So long as it's at a sensible price. What could be more Hull? I don't think it will happen though.
The newspaper print put hairs on your chest. This plain paper then use nowadays just isn't the same and as for the polystyrene trays! Can you still pick up a cone of chips? Loved getting to that pool of vinegar that formed at the bottom.
Correct me if i'm wrong, are Carvers patties coated with a breadcrumb (bright orange) and not a batter? I prefer a battered pattie.
