I know not many of you went, but those that did are welcome to share their match ratings!!

Paulo Gazzaniga - 7, Very assured display. Shows alot of promise, with distribution a particular strength.

Frazer Richardson - 7, Battled hard and threatened down the right. A good performance.
Maya Yoshia - 7, Looks very composed on the ball.
Jos Hooiveld - 7, Did nothing wrong and led by example.
Dan Seaborne - 6, A few good moments but looked a tad uncomfortable at LB

Richard Chaplow - 6, An energetic display but didn't produce as we know he can
James Ward-Prowse - 6, Outmuscled a few times and overpowered but also some good moments
Jack Cork - 6, Good to see him back but you could see he's lacking match fitness

Guly do Prado - 6, Looked good in phases but was a mixed bag tonight
Jay Rodriguez - 8 MOTM, Very impressive display with a superb turn for the first goal - a constant threat
Steve De Ridder - 7, Ran their defence riot but couldn't produce the end ball

Ben Reeves - 7, A few nice moments
Andy Robinson - 6, A few neat passes but not really involved
    Sam Hoskins - N/A

    Thoughts? Post your ratings below!!

MOTM was Yoshida for me. He looks very composed and I love how he's bossing the defence. Based on his performances so far and his general demeanour on the pitch I'd say he's future captain material.

JWP higher than a 6 for me, closer to an 8. Pretty much ran midfield imho

MOTM was Jack Cork, despite not being fully fit he was involved in everything and bossed the midfield along with JWP. Honorable mentions to Ben Reeves and Sam Hoskins who both looked good when they came on.

Don't know how you can give SdR 7, he was very frustrating for me - giving the ball away trying to be clever instead of crossing it or passing to someone in space.

Won't bother rating them all as I agree with all your ratings.

    Special shouts for:

Gazza - 2 really good saves, doesn't look remotely phased by anything. There's something about his cheeky persona that is going to make him a fan favourite. He's cocky, but that kind of confidence is encouraging to see in a keeper.

J-rod - real glad to see him open his account, probably should have put another away in the 1st half when he was 1 on 1 with the keeper, but otherwise looked dangerous throughout. He's faster than I thought as well.

De Ridder - ridiculously frustrating, could be a top player if he sorted his crossing and passing out. What we all knew anyway, but hasn't got much better over the summer.

It sounded like De Ridder had a corker too is this correct playing on the left?

That's correct! As I say, he terrorised their defence but no end product

True, but Ben Reeves caused them almost as many in the much shorter time he was on the pitch! It was a case of "should do better" with SdR for me today; certainly not good enough for the league, even on the bench. Whereas I can see the youth players making the step up if needed.

Pretty much agree with the ratings, though would have gone to a 7 for JWP. Not a huge de Ridder fan, but thought he was the most interesting to watch...certainly caused the opposition trouble. A someone said, what a player he would be with some end product. However, he entertained me tonight.

Won't go into individual ratings as there pretty fair by S4L. It was a comfortable win so a lot of players played within themselves. A few mentions

Gazzaniga - His extra height and command of the penalty area was an obvious advantage over Davis. He flapped at a couple but his physical presence and agility shows he has all the tools to be a top top keeper. He made a couple of great shot stops too. A sound save from a Wednesday player who was through in the 2nd half and the highlight a low catch from what was a well struck shot in injury time. Very encouraging.

Steve De Ridder - Nothing new here from Stevee as it was a frustrating performance, but that frustration is driven because he has great ability. Fantastic feet, strength to force defenders off him and speed to get away. He gave there full back a torrid night but for every great piece of skill to create an opening it would be followed by a sigh as a pass of cross went astray. It's not like he can't cross either as there were at least three deliveries which should/could have ended in goals. Guly header denied by keeper/post, Rodriguez free header wide and Hoskins somehow ducking under the ball. The lad needs to be loaned out for confidence but also to get him in match situations constantly to help him with his decision making.

Jay Rod - you must catch his quick turn for the 1st goal. An obvious highlight and no fluke as he did a similar trick earlier and forced the keeper to save well with his legs. Certainly won't be too concerned if lambert is out to have him come in, but has to play up top and not on the left.

This. JRod has a 9 on his back, he needs to be played as one - he'll be a great first choice next season when Rickie is 31 and will probably only have a role as an impact sub.

JRod interview on Player. You can tell he's in awe of Ricky. He just grinned in astonishment when the interviewer asked if he was a striker like Lambert. Said..I'd like to think I was similar, but his record is much better than mine. Give him the ball and it's in the net. Says he hopes to learn from working with a striker like RL.

he was a very screwd investment, a year training with Rickie will improve him no end. Agree that Stevee should go out on loan, our whole game is about moving the ball quickly but keeping hold of the damn thing, when we loose the ball we are very open to counter attacks

Good point Bendit you can't afford to keep giving the ball away ayt the top level as Punch discovered on Saturday.

Gazzaniga 7? He was poor last night. He was unconvincing coming out for crosses, fumbled at least 3 crosses and a couple of woeful kicks. I would rate him 5. He should not be in goal on Saturday. De Ridder had a good game, a constant threat in the first half. Played a good through ball for Rodriguez when he missed a one on one. Glad Cork didn't seem to be badly injured.

I didn't watch or listen but I could have written that Steve de Ridder is frustrating, no end product etc myself

Gazzaniga wasn't a 5 for me. I agree he dropped a couple of crosses but he made some good saves - especially the one at the end. He also made some excellent passes which more than offset the couple that went astray. Maybe a 6 for me, possibly a 7.
