If this was a purely sex thing, there are plenty of other avenues this clown could have gone down that wouldn't have wrecked his career. The relationship appears to have been going for some months, so he must have been getting more out of it than a bit of rumpy-pumpy. What real connection could he have had with a 15 year old kid? As Bib pointed out earlier, they'll have no cultural references in common. The only thing I can think is that it's a bit of a power trip for him being the adult in the relationship. I suspect we'll find that he's had difficulty forming relationships with women his own age in the past. I knew all these years watching Cracker would pay off.

IMO, any more than a 33% difference in age is just weird. Eg., a 30 year old bloke with a 19 year old girl is too far. A 40 year old bloke with a 26 year old is still a bit sad. As would be a 50 y.o. with a 33 y.o. Jip's 33% Law, it's infallible.
