Did not go to leicester but Np had done is homework and they beat us fair and square, lets hope its a good thing i am sure it will be, SB must have thought long and hard about it and the system he has been playing for me is a great system and very entertaining which hopefully we will continue with and beat many teams with it, however we now know some of the better sides in the division may be able to exploit us and there is going to be times when we will need to change, i thought yesterday after the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half we might have brought a centre half off and brought rosy on moving Elmo to the right of midfield and then switching Koren and Evans for Olie and Mckenna, i am sure a four man midfield of Quinn, Mckenna, Oli and Elmo would have stuck the boot in a bit more and not been bossed has much has we was. Dont get me wrong the starting line up is the team i would have played apart from Oli who i think should have started but having beat Leeds i can understand SB keeping the same side. The point i am trying to make is at times we may have to change things and have a plan B but after yesterday i am sure SB will now know this.

"Pearson had clearly done his homework on the Tigers and ordered his two wide men to push forward at every opportunity.

That way, both Ahmed Elmohamady and Joe Dudgeon – the two wing-backs whose marauding runs forward in an expansive 3-5-2 formation had helped the Tigers to a trio of wins before the trip to Leicester – were too busy dealing with their defensive duties to cause the home side too many problems.

The tactic worked well in the first half as Hull were pinned back thanks to Ben Marshall and Anthony Knockaert asking serious questions of the Yorkshire side.

Once ahead, Leicester switched formation at the interval as
Nugent reverted to a lone frontman role and, once again, it worked admirably as the visitors were restricted to little more than hopeful long-range efforts before Nugent killed off the game in stoppage time with his hat-trick goal."

Game, set and match to NP and his mate Craig Shakespeare.

We didn't appear to have a plan B.

Word spreads quickly in the Championship.

There is no real substitute for quality players who deliver regardless of formations.

in the early stages of leeds they had it sussed to be fair, it isnt really rocket science , they got in a few times and should have been 2-0 up before we got hold of the game,.
once we got into our stride tho, they couldnt get enough of the ball, that was he biggest problem for me yesterday, ball retention was sloppy, koren, aluko and simpson all great at leeds kept giving it away..
i hope bruce doesnt do what brown did and change things dramatically after a blip, we got caught out it happens, it will probably happen a few more times but im confident we will win more then we lose if we stick with it..

Completely agree with that. NP's 'homework' wouldn't have got him anywhere if his team didn't have the ball. We simply gave the ball away too much yesterday so we got beat. We kept it well in the last few games so we won them. Simple enough.

In the early stages, we looked like a team who had never before played on a greasy surface and had no idea how to pass / control a ball on a wet surface.

I thought Lesster worked exceptionally hard all through the game and would not let our players settle anywhere at any stage with the ball.

No-one this season has been so determined and in our faces.

NP's tactics or our off day?

    Or both?

He's a fookin' ****er. Did you see him on Jonathan Ross? The way he made excuses for the London rioters made me sick.

Same, we've seen the merits of the system and it would be foolish to jack it in completely.

Yet we could have still nicked an undeserved point at Leicester, if that bloke on the line wasn't there.

Although, that's all ifs and buts for now.

We need to keep the ball better- in the first half at Leeds and at Leicester we were far too sloppy until we were 1-0 down. We're not always going to be able to come from behind in matches. We need to start better.

It has got nothing to do with systems or formations when all is said and done. Its down to players.

On sunday Lesta played and Hull did not. As good as Lesta were though it was almost a 2 - 2 draw. Fine margins indeed.

surely "being fair" to Steve Bruce after a defeat is itself very foam-handy ;)

the team's current foam would suggest that we still are a good team though. once the paint dries, think we will still be a better team than last year
