    QPR v Reading – Reading Chat (26/09/2012)

Please do see the ’Not 606’ Reading board for our news and preview on the game –
    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/170711-QPR-v-Reading

The fullest respect is shown to QUEENS PARK RANGERS with full information produced equally for both sets of fans – but in all honesty far more on your team. It would be really interesting for us to have any comments from you put up here (or there on the Reading thread), like how you see the game going and general thoughts on your own team, and your (honest!) opinion of Reading - unfortunately not up to much at the moment!

For those who’d like to read a really detailed match presentation please pop over to the specialist Reading FC forum ‘Royals Rendezvous’ … http://royalsrendezvous.co.uk/topic/9714945/1 where you have even more sections covered (the Reading board article is simply a resume) and photos up too …

Despite our league worries let's make it a good cup game

Further to the last post, it would be really interesting for us to have any comments underneath from you. I know some people don’t particularly like other fans producing a shopping list of questions to answer, and I perfectly understand that, so I leave any comments freely and totally with you. But if you like, these following points might be used as a very basic guide in case you’d like to write to something slightly longer, but don’t feel at all pushed to go along this road if it doesn’t suit you:

A] What are currently the strongest areas of YOUR squad, and how do they click together?
B] Who should Reading specially look out for / fear most of your squad?
C] Any young stars coming through the academy that we should keep an eye on, now or in the future?
D] Realistically, where do you hope Rangers might finish if all goes more-or-less well?
E] How strong do you see the general level of the premier this season?
F] Any general opinions of Reading FC - either for or against (you can be honest!)

A] What are currently the strongest areas of YOUR squad, and how do they click together?
Midfield. I think Faurlin and Grenero are striking up a decnt partnership. They made Chelsea midfield look second best.

B] Who should Reading specially look out for / fear most of your squad?
Hard to say because we have some good players and on their day can be a 'handful' for any team.

C] Any young stars coming through the academy that we should keep an eye on, now or in the future? D]
    Rob Hulse.

Realistically, where do you hope Rangers might finish if all goes more-or-less well?
Between 10-12th. The team is good and once it gels will be hard to beat.

E] How strong do you see the general level of the premier this season?
Stronger than last season. Many teams have invested in better players and it will be even hard for the promoted sides.

F] Any general opinions of Reading FC - either for or against (you can be honest!)
Reading are one of my teams to go down along with Saints,Norwich. For me they have too many Championship players in the team and not enough quality. Reading are slow at the back and will let in goals. The midfield is not great (MaCnuff is good but inconsistant) and Legs just not a Prem player. Upfront you have 'Pog' who did well at Fulham but if he does not get the service, wont score.
Your new owners boasted about Euro football but did not put the money in? That's what cost you last time in 2006
I also think you manager has got the last 2 game formations wrong? I said when you played Spurs that you are at home and should have 2 upfront. Then against WBA (away) he plays 2 upfront?
In the Premiership you need to take as many points as you can, even a draw which you should have tried to get at WBA. This division is not like the Championship where you can make mistakes and get away with it. You need to put your chances away and beat the 'lesser teams'. If you do that then you have a chance but then again its the same for all of us.

Problem with your questions is that we will almost certainly put out a very weak team now, bearing in mind all our injuries and how important the next league game is against West Ham. So there won't be many of our better players playing imo.

Brian McDermott doesn't ease off the cup, unlike predecesor Steve Coppell - it'll be something like last time out:

    Reading
    21 McCarthy (or Federici?)
    02 Gunter
    03 Shorey
    05 Pearce
    17 Gorkss
    08 Leigertwood
    11 McAnuff
    20 Guthrie
    07 Pogrebniak
    09 Le Fondre
    12 McCleary (or Kébé?)
    Substitutes
    41 Taylor
    06 Mariappa
    24 Cummings
    04 Karacan
    19 Robson-Kanu
    10 Hunt
    18 Church

Don't think they'll be many surprises, even though the Academy is VERY good!

    Agree Norty
Reading have a tough game on Saturday which they need to get points from and i can see some senior players being rested. I just want to get through the tie without anymore injuries.

I can see the Rs having a Cup run this season. MH OUGHT to start with Cisse up front, as your defence is not the fastest. Our midfield is starting to get into gear and I think that will be the telling point tomorrow. If they can release Cisse into space we should win. Still think Reading will be OK.

Won't be our usual midfield mate. Can't see Granero or Faurlin playing. Too risky with all our injuries.

2nd season syndrome vice-versa - well, it worked with you in his second season (and I think Sheff Utd too) - so Leeds are odds on to go up this year with the Warnock record!
