Saw this somewhere else - here's Celtic's managers ranked in terms of winning percentages.

    Martin O'Neill 75.53%
    Neil Lennon 72.12%
    Jock Stein 69.20%
    Billy McNeill 66.67%
    John Barnes 65.51%
    Gordon Strachan 65.19%
    Willie Maley 64.75%
    Wim Jansen 64.71%
    Jozef Venglos 58.00%
    Liam Brady 57.14%
    Kenny Dalglish 55.55%
    Tommy Burns 54.80%
    David Hay 51.78%
    Tony Mowbray 51.11%
    Jimmy McGrory 49.58%
    Lou Macari 32.00%

Before anyone asks, I don't know if it's all games, just league games etc...

    But,

    It is surprising <ok>

Current boss second all time and above Stein, though.

He was in charge for even less time than Mowbray, I think, and probably had one of the biggest budgets a Celtic manager has ever had.

Burns drew about as many games as he won.

I might be wrong but I don't think Dalglish spent any money - he might have told Barnes how to spend it but when he took over the team I don't think there were any new acquisitions till O'Neill

True, but his team was worth a lot - Ian Wright, Berkovic, Petrov, Scheidt<yikes> - Berkovic was a Scottish record or at least a club record I think.

Nice to see our Neil number two to the great Martin O'Neil who inherited a talented yet very low spirited team.
O' Neil had the charm and wit to unlock the board's purse strings in away no Celtic Manager has done before or since.
Some say that subsequent managers have had to suffer since as the board tighten their collective belts and appeared
almost scrooge like to some Celtic fans. Whether that is true or not isn't really relevant as the real outcome of M O'N
term at Celtic is the ignormity of the death by cheating and fraud of more than one Rangers owner. The once club
of dignity and wealth has been completely found out and is replaced by Sevco who are supported by ex-cons, dole
merchants and general low life. The once proud industrialists and property owners have walked away.

Wright was ****e (past it when he came to us) and Berkovic was inconsistent and not a team player. Petrov was the best signing of that managerial team (if memory serves me right Dalglish was the one who rec'd him) though Barnes played him as a left back <doh>

PS no need to mention scheidt <whistle>

Between Scheidt and Berkovic alone, that's about £10m in transfer fees alone <yikes>

I think our whole squad cost just over that just now (Broon and Forster most expensive, I think).

...and Lenny's got them in the CL <ok>

    Well played the gaffer <applause>

I always felt if Neil Lennon was given the chance he would become a great manager. His footballing brain, the intelligence he used to play the game, the mentoring from O'Neill...

I think the best is yet to come from him <ok>
