My guess for team for tomorrow Gazziniga Richardson Yoshida Fonte Seaborne Cork Ward-Prowse Guly Chaplow Rodriguez De Ridder
According to Durham an Goughy on Talksport we're going to lose tomorrow as we have a paper thin squad that's struggling in the Prem so when we leave out our relative best players we will cop it from the mighty Sheffield Wednesday who are a sleeping giant. Oh well, let's see if their informed comments come true
TalkSport is absolute ****. We all know that, you can ignore it easily enough though because relatively few people of sound football knowledge listen to it so their half-baked opinions don't have to hurt anyone.
Badl put, but he has a point. Without Lallana, Ramirez or Lambert, we don't have a whole lot of inspiration coming from midfield. We don't know which Guly will show up and Chaplow is a good runner, but a bit ****. Reeves could be just about up to it. He's no Gaston Ramirez, but he can probably do a job in this one. The most we can do is keep the ball and hope a break materialises from somewhere. Wednesday probably won't press like Man U or Villa, so we should be able to play out from the back more comfortably. We'll need some big players on the bench at least to change the game if we want to make sure of winning it. With Ramirez, Lallana and Lambert in the team, Rodriguez or Mayuka would bang them in, but without them they probably wouldn't. We need to be mindful of that.
I think we probably will lose tomorrow, not because Wednesday are better than us, but because i imagine our players and fans wont give a **** about the game.
Hey guys, I'm new to this so go easy on me! Been reading as a guest for a while and thought I'd finally get round to signing up. I like the sound of JRod, Lee and Mayuka as a front 3 and think it would be good to give them all a solid run out. Maybe sub Mayuka around 60mins so he's not too tired for the weekend as I'd like him to play in that as well. Would also like to see Shaw, Cork and JWP given some game time tomorrow. On another note, I think it would be good if we could get a chant in support of Mark Halsey tomorrow to show that there are still lots of good football fans around.
Don't know if anyone's posted the same XI as haven't checked back, but here's my thoughts.... --------------------Rodriguez----------------------- ---De Ridder-------Reeves----------Guly---------- -----------------Cork-----Chaplow----------------- -----Shaw---Hooiveld---Seaborne--Butterfield--- -----------------------Boruc------------------------- Subs: K. I think that the players selected and the fans that turn up (including me) wil care about this game, but we will struggle if the team is weakened too much. I know a lot of clubs put out fringe players, but I will be annoyed if the team isn't strengthened by a few first teamers. Tickets should be free if they do that. This cup isn't important compared to the league, but I think a reasonably strong team can be put out without threatening our PL future. Shame Lee is injured because this would have been perfect for him.
Let's be honest Weds are at best a mid table side and our team last year would have smashed them. Whatever team Nigel picks tonight should be more than good enough unless it's all youngsters.
After looking at our current squad, I am going to have to leave the Team selection for tonights game to NA, it is so difficult to avoid being sentimental, the question is, do we want to win this game bad enough to field the strongest team, or do we seek to use it to give squad players a chance to impress, or do we give some youngsters a game to get experience of first team matches? If we lose, the critics will be back with a vengeance, if we win but suffer a vital injury or pick up some cards the critics will say we shouldn't have risked important players, at least there will be a result tonight and I would happy to be watching the draw tomorrow hoping for another home game. It is tough to be a manager in, NA we trust. COYRs
I had a dream that I through a ball at schniederlins head while he was lying on the ground and he got up and injured his leg when he tried to kick the ball away with his trademark scoop pass. So on that basis I hope he doesn't play
Goalie choice will be interesting. Boruc (if fully fit) to give him a run out. Gazzaniga to have 2nd look after a good performance on Saturday (perhaps indicating that he may not play against Everton). SKD to show he is still in contention.
Having thought about it...bet it's SKD. Can imagine him being told he was dropped for Villa match, but being given this game as a sweetener.
