Even better is the thought that we should get even better as the new boys bed in. Ramirez is pure class, Davis looks useful, Clyne looked like a natural left back and Mayuka looks like a real threat. Yoshida was so cool it appears we have found somebody to stiffen our defence and Gazzaniga also looked calm and made one good save at the near post.
There was tonnes of unpleasantness. I think the group I was with got started on 3 times during the day by Villa fans. We also had the West Midland police threatening to chucking us out for celebrating too much when we went 2-1 up. 2 people of group then got chucked for celebrating for too long during the 3rd goal. The majority of the stewards were crap towards us just for the fact that we were right next to the away fans. The villa fans could got away with quite a lot. I must admit I had one guy within our group who ran his mouth and gave a few hand signals but other than that we were well behaved. On the other hand, had a great day. Started off in the isobar on St Marys street and it had a cracking atmosphere.

You've just read through a match thread where so-called supporters were backing their team when they were in the lead and despairing when they started to lose ground. There were very few posters on that thread who kept their feet on the ground. Now you're making the very same flavour of over-the-top suggestions as the posters on that Villa forum. We're 5 games in. Was surprised how quickly the fans turned on their players, but then realised that this wasn't the equivalent of our not606. Perhaps other Saints forums would also be this volatile??
Agree with all of the above. Ramirez was just a different class, his touch and his general box to box play was top draw. Clyne looked good at LB, would be happy to keep him there and put Frazer at RB. Mayuka pace could scare a few defences. Yoshida was so calm and no nonsense defending. If you can't play it out to someone, boot it out. Plus I think he must have won 85-90% of his headers. Gazzaniga looks like he could become a very good keeper and working with the likes of Kelv & Athur with their experience will help him. Absolutley loved his time wasting during the second half. Walk to every ball when out. Ooo I have caught the ball unchallenege hang on let me drop to the floor. Wait a miniute my boot is undone I must take off my gloves and do it up. Classic.
