Looks like Mr Integrity jumped ships too soon again - what price him not lasting as long at Liverpool as he did at Reading?

If they continue badly, my WHU supporting colleague will want BR to stay as he's got a bet on with someone who supports Liverpool as to which team will finish higher.

Rained quite a bit yesterday and this morning was wet and windy (I almost got blown to work) but it's calmed down and is now sunny. I wish I could be a fly on the wall at pie's next Chemistry lesson when he says to his teacher that one of the questions for his homework was a complete load of rubbish as the reaction it's asking about is impossible! I did Chemistry A-level so when he asked me, I was able to confirm it.

A question for you older, (40's) Hornets.

I remember as a kid a childrens tv programme about a youth football team & I'm almost certain if was filmed at Vicarage Road.

It was on while I was at the local comp & that was 1978-1983.

No-one at work could remember the name of it.

    You guys any ideas?

Jossy's Giants? Wasn't filmed at Vicarage Road though - somewhere in Manchester I think.

No not that one mate, that came out after I'd left school, (think it was filmed in N***astle).

The one I mean always had "Thanks to Watford FC" in the credits.

I'm not just saying this because Brendan Rodgers is the manager, but what Liverpool need is a humiliation in the league. They've had some bad seasons, but when was the last time they finished below a club that doesn't have Champions League ambitions? The year they start to finish below clubs like Swansea, Norwich, Reading etc is the year The Kop will come to realise what the rest of us already know: turning Liverpool around is a long term job.

Good news and bad news from my date with a delightful French nurse.

My plaster has not been taken off allowing me to have a good scratch. :( I was told that it is dead skin inside the thing. It must be falling off and is building up. I will either have to practice headstands or hang upside down from a tree branch and hope it falls out.

The good news is that in two weeks time the plaster comes off and can be "thrown through the window". ;) No more injections either, so no more discussions on pig breeding in two weeks.

"You will need lots of physio when it comes off, about 25 sessions." Most of the people I have spoken to believe that you can manage quite well on half that number, but will have to be careful not to overdo it too quickly.

Can you suck the skin out with a vacuum cleaner or bend a long piece of wire to scratch?

    California = gerbil = exotic
New Zealand = eel = country side
    What odd behaviour.

I did read of someone who inserted a vacuum cleaner into a wasp's nest and sucked the creatures out into the bag which he promptly burnt.

Someone else heard of it and tried the same thing without knowing that the machine did not have a bag inside. When he opened it up he was stung dozens of times by some very irate insects. :(

It was Murphy's Mob. I got the book based on the series. Here's a short clip of the opening titles.

    BTW, I'm not 40 yet.

Maybe our football club can be compared with vacuum cleaners.

The old Hoover was an upright thing with a bag on the back that inflated when you switched it on, or there was the cylinder type like a dachshund on skis that you pulled along behind you. They were not very glamorous, but were functional and did an alright sort of job.

Along comes the trendy brightly coloured Dyson. No loss of power with this one and it takes us all of the way to the top.

Go into any electrical store today and there are many different machines from all around the world. Names that we have never heard of, reputed to be the best in their class.

Will these new models be the way forward? Will they suck up any other fabrication that gets in the way? Can the Italian ability to design things that are stylish prove to be efficient also?
