Big Sam's teams are always physical and athletic and I'm never sure that we can handle mixing it up with sides like that. That said we got a point against Stoke the other week and could easily have taken all three - whereas we were outplayed for big chunks of our weekend game against Fulham. So what do I know?

Usually the LC or whatever its called now is a chance to play some fringe players but the Forest game away suggested that maybe Bobby is going to take the cups a bit more seriously. The fans would certainly appreciate a decent cup run. So I hope that we're able to go for something like a full strength side. Something like this would suit me - assuming all injuries have passed -

    Habsi
    Ramis Caldwell Alcaraz
    Boyce McArthur Fyvie Figueroa
    Miyachi Di Santo Boselli

I'd like to see Fyvie getting a run out just because Watson and Gomez (I know Gomez plays further forward but he's awful wherever he plays) look just bloody awful and if we're going to have some competition for those central midfield positions I'd rather our young Jock was getting a chance. Plus if we can play the three heavies in the centre of defence they'll give the young lad a bit of protection as well as getting us a bit better equipped to deal with the Hammers undoubted aerial assualts. I'm assuming that Sam hasn't change his MO?

LC impossible to predict, they might put out some second eleven and who know whether they would roll over or batter us.

We played them in the league a couple of week's ago, it was a 0-0, we should have buried them in the first half and to be honest I think we lost interest in the second half, which was pretty boring.
They threw the high balls forward at our defence, who coped fairly easily with them, we had a couple of midfielders playing a bit deeper than usual, who mopped up the clearing headers, and then pushed forward. I believe if you play to your strenghts, keeping the ball on the ground and passing quickly you can beat them. Your defenders need to be strong and concentrate for the full 90 minutes.
Good luck, I hope you beat them, like most fans of football I hate that style of play. <ok>

I think both of you will get sore necks looking up the league at Sam's team than the WHU fans this year. COYI

That was a good evenings work. They made a lot of changes so it ws one of those typical LC ties where the manager takes a risk with a load of changes - they made nine I think? - and it doesn't go for them. We made five? from the weekend. Always nice to turn them over, particularly at their place.

Nice to see some of them making a visit here too, it brightens the place up a bit.

Boselli is starting to score a few goals now which is good to see and shows it wasn't a total waste of 6 million we splashed out

Every limb I have is crossed that he's going to start firing them in in the league - I always felt that the ten or so games we gave him a couple season ago wasn't enough. We've had two seasons with really poor goalscorers - it would be a blessed relief if we had three decent strikers all competing for places. ANd we have NEVER had a 20 goal a season striker since Ellihngton in the Championship - I can but dream!

Ye it was great to see Boselli get the 2 goals and Ramis as well but for me the best thing was the fact that(this is one for you HP) Gomez took and scored the penalty(ho ye of little faith HP) :1980_boogie_down: but like BCFC Red says on another note 4-1 <party>

It was a good evenings work and to prove it we had 57% of the ball. But really that's not the problem is it.

I bet you're happy that you took 3 points off the mighty Southampton!

Hopefully you'll go down this season and everyone in the football world will have a party. A big party to celebrate the relegation of the rugby club.

    You're a league 1 club that's kicked it's height.

We're ALWAYS happy to take three points off clubs who have delusions of grandeur! Think of it as a community service - Little Wigan - puncturing the over inflated egos of PL clubs since 2005, and helping their fans get a sense of perspective.

    You're welcome!

On another note though - 4-1

We don't have delusions of grandeur. We were in the Premier League when you were playing football with donkeys or something.

I will make it my clubs sole objective to relegate you down to the championship.

Didn't your fans chant something stupid when you beat us?

Oh right yes because finishing 2nd in division 1 (championship) should not mean that we get promoted to the premiership <doh>, also we have been here for 8 years now, so stop filling us with your bollox.

    Thanking you

    edit:

Attendances low wah wah wah, need to hear something new from the idiots not the same old tripe
