Sky used the ****ing Hubble for that close up ffs. Wasnt a penalty, nor was the scholes tackle. He clearly gets the ball the ginger ninja
And we lost the cricket too. A record loss at that. Well at least you don't have to worry about that!
"Sky used the ****ing Hubble for that close up ffs." All the more proof that it happened! FFS, is this the Heisenberg uncertainty principle or something? It clearly showed Evans' foot make contact with suarez and not touch the ball. 'Ginga', as you call him, made a two-footed lunge at Sterling, but history shows he has to commit a human sacrifice under the eyes of all four officials and the twelve disciples to even get booked, let alone have a penalty given against him.
IMO the ref was ****e and lost all control of the game after the red card. He looked indecisive from the red card onwards. Right at the death one of Man U's players fouled Suarez (it was an obvious one) and he was looking ready to signal for a foul or to signal advantage but he just let play go on when Liverpool had no advantage whatsoever in carrying on. He had no idea what went on with the red card tackle either so had to ask his assistant who was miles away and ask his opinion on it and went with that. If you are clear with what you are doing and show conviction in every decision you are making then the crowd are less likely to get wound up and on your back. If you start being indecisive then you are going to struggle to convince the crowd that you aren't biased. Halsey is a poor ref and wasn't fit to referee a game of this magnitude. He was like a deer in the headlights when the crowd got on his back. Agree on all the penalties though, I wouldn't have given a single penalty in the game.
Whether Scholes got the ball or not is irrelevant. If you read the rules, two footed tackles are illegal, WHETHER THEY GET THE BALL OR NOT. He clearly went in with two feet, ergo penalty.
I just read the rules and erm..... It doesnt say 2 footed challenges are illegal. It says serious foul play and violent conduct are sending off offences as well as a tackle that is considered careless, wreck less or excessive force by the ref. That applies to one and two footed tackles.
We're at the point where we praise people for not singing sick chants about the deceased. Sad, sad times. But even then they still can't help themselves. They should be condemned for singing them, not praised for not indulging in them, that should be a given.
From FIFA's own website:- Soccer Red Card - A player must be shown a Red Card and "sent off" (i.e., made to leave the field) for the 7 offenses listed below. A player shown a "Red Card" & sent off may not be replaced during that game (i.e., his team must play a player "short" for the rest of the game; however, in some leagues a player may be replaced if he is ejected for receiving a second Yellow Card). The 7 offenses for which a player must be shown a Red Card and sent off are: serious foul play (includes any use of excessive force or brutality against an opponent when challenging for the ball. Examples include a dangerous slide tackle from behind, or an "over the top tackle" in which a player raises his foot so the cleats could hit a player, or a two footed tackle that takes down the opponent. FIFA has broadened this definition by saying that "Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force and endangering the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play. For current rules visit fifa.com, Laws of the Game. The above quote is from Questions and Answers, Additional Instructions for Referees). The rules now include "Decision 4", which says: "A tackle, which endangers the safety of an opponent, must be sanctioned as serious foul play".
So it doesnt say a 2 footed challenge is a red card then. It says what I posted ( they were the FA's rules, I expected FIFA's to be the same ). Do you think Evans had excessive force and endangered Shelvey? Im not convinced personally. I think Shelvey's did have excessive force and did endanger Evans. You wont agree and we could go round in circles but its done now. Its not changing.
"Do you think Evans had excessive force and endangered Shelvey? Im not convinced personally." Yes, and I'm not surprised. 'Ginga's' tackle on Raheem totally fits the bill too - excessive force and knocked Sterling over. Apart from badly missing a striker of the class of Van Persie, we dreadfully miss a professional ref-botherer like Rio X. every decision Halsey made, no matter where it was on the pitch, Ferdinand was there to remind him what would happen to his captive wife and children being held hostage if he didn't do as expected. precision performance.
I noticed that as well, I think that is why Shelvey was having a bit of a go at Fergie as he left the field. No need for Ferdinand to get involved in trying to get another player sent off.
My respect for Shelvey has gone up - he's only 19 and he was not intimidated by Rio and gave him a piece of his mind and then he had the balls to go for Fergie as well. Future LFC captain
Haha, I thought that. When he went off, it was inevitable our complete dominance would drop and was a bit pissed. Then the lad went and gave it at a fergie and a couple others. Shame he will miss a few matches now, he is progressing fast.
Shelvey showed himself to be an ignorant oik. Fergie laughing at him as he trudged down the tunnel was classic. Rodgers will have to discipline the lad, perhaps he could give him a good telling off like he did with Sterling
Plus the introduction of Scholes didn't help us. It was very naive and silly of Shelvey to do that (both the challenge and the reaction) but I love his tenacity. I'm sure he will control as he becomes more experienced.
The penalty calls were never really penalties. Suarez shout seemed more of a penalty than the other one, but there wasn't really enough contact. There was absolutely no contact on Valencia. As for the sending off, that was a joke. Later on Van Persie goes in, studs showing and gets a yellow, the same yellow Shelvey should have got no more than.
laugh you may but your sh!t team needed the ref to hand you a win, otherwise your lot never had a fookin chance United look like 4th this year
how do we look like 4th? its like me saying you look like champions when you clearly look like relegation fodder right now. we happen to be second on a 4 match winning run
Maybe Shelvey said to Ferguson ''I found your whiskey and now I'm going to drink it, you drunken old fool''.
