Being a Liverpool fan, ex-player, ex-manager or even a combination of all three, doesn't mean that they're right when they say a contentious decision that went against Liverpool was correct. Most of the time it's not Lawro being biased, it's just Lawro being stupid.

Lawro has always look on it as a job requirement, never to show the slightest glimps of allegiance to Liverpool. I think he thinks that by being hard on us, and sucking up to the popularist POV, that he will be liked by the viewing audience. While the truth lies in the region that the whole country thinks him a stupid nonce.
Lawro hates Liverpool(the city)with a vengeance, remember the stick he got about 'Otterspool Prom'? He rarely shows his wrinkled grid at Anfield these days compared to the rest of the team he played in and the **** only lives a few miles away in Southport.

He's just a terrible pundit - more concerned about saying funny comments than analysing football. And his comments about the Suarez penalty incident was shocking. No analysis whatsoever, just said Evans got the ball. Here's a thought, slow it down, show it from different angles and it was clear that Evans got the ball. The problem is, if people didn't see the match and only watched MOTD, then it would look like it was a good challenge and Suarez dived.
He once predicted an unbeaten season for Liddypool. True story, I don't have a screen shot of every week's predictions though.

Unbelievable, the man gives his opinion on the incidents and just because he says something you don't like he must be a Man Utd fan, really, get a grip.
My beef is the fact that if you look at it closely and in slow motion, it's clear that it was a penalty. But Lawro just looks at it once and dismisses it. He's paid to provide top quality anaylsis and he fails consistently.
Just a pointer to those in here claiming this dislike of Lawro has only happened overnight: if you want to do some research on Liverpool fans' opinions of him as a pundit, you'll find he's been disliked for years. I could point you to some specific sources, but I imagine there are enough for you to stumble upon in your own time.
Also, how do we attract so many fans of different clubs to this board? It's not as if we advertise on the home page. They have to physically click to open our board, and then our threads. Odd. Maybe I'm in a minority, but I rarely venture to the boards of other clubs. Firstly, I can't be bothered, and secondly, I'm not really interested in what's going on there.
The reality is that this gimp has NEVER given us even the steam off his **** since he's been a pundit. NEVER. As has been pointed out, this isn't just now; just trawl through my posts and you'll see that myself (and several other Liverpool posters) have always responded to threads about Liverpool 'bias' on the BBC (hopefully that can now be put to be bed) by using Lawrenson and his steadfastly anti-Liverpool rhetoric as an example of how this lazy sterotype is utterly false.
Go on then, show us that evidence. lawro has NEVER predicted Liverpool to win the league, ever. As for him being 'one of our own' - **** off. Never since he went into punitry. Never at all.
