Dan Roan reporting on Twitter that Terry has retired from international football. Thoughts? Who will this open up a spot for?

Cahill, Jagielka, Lescott, Jones, Smalling, Caulker. We won't miss him.

That leaves us a bit short of experience at CB. Cahill and Lescott will now be our first choice pairing. Personally, I would prefer Jagielka to Lescott. Not particularly surprised at the news.

    Quote from Terry:

"I feel The FA, have made my position with the national team untenable."

We need his experience, but it does leave a pathway through to others. I don't rate Cahill too much, would like Lescott and Jagielka there. Jagielka always seems to play well for England and Lescott's a decent player, weren't they together at Everton?

Well you can never question his commitment to England and he has played through the pain barrier when others would have called sickies. Obviously the FA have forced him into this, and it will give others an opportunity, however it does seem a bit draconian and supercilious of the FA.

I don't think the FA have forced him into, I think he's got wind he is going to be found guilty and suspended - so is trying to get a strike in first maybe with a bit of brinkmanship - the guy is a f***wit and deserves everything he gets.

On your quote I might be missing something but what is draconian about what the FA are doing?
