We have already discussed this Tom I suggest you re read the thread, but thank you for posting the clip - I was the one who raised it but I thought it was the warm up lap not a restart - I stand corrected!
That last bit wasn't there before I hit reply. I agree though (with the first sentence) Seb Just gives a squirt of throttle before the corner and then lifts again, it's Button who misjudges it. It didn't cross my mind for a second that they'd investigate it, are they going to investigate every near miss now? They've been farcical this season. Disagree with both points. I think Hamilton would've hung on for the win but it wouldn't have been easy, the Red Bull looked quicker on primes, I think he'd have had to fight for it. I don't think he's out of the championship just yet either, McLaren's pace has been strong recently, at every type of track they're quick and he's driving well. He has the potential to end the season like Vettel ended 2010, it's a tough task, but it's not over yet.
Yeah the car has been the best since Germany, but its better to have the best luck than the best car. Germany when the car became the best, he is the only driver to suffer a points ending puncture out of sheer luck. Spa, he is taken out by a rookie for no reason, out of sheer luck Today gearbox faliure - sheer luck Good luck beats a good car.
The other example of Button at a restart is China 2010. Realistically I think the FIA just need to tighten up on etiquette at a restart after a safety car situation. Knowing the FIA, they will make an example even when one is completely unnecessary.
No action!!!!!!!!!! BBC 5Live F1 Team ‏@5LiveF1 No further action regarding Vettel and Button according to Charlie Whiting...
Also, it looks like Button is going to support Hamilton for the WDC now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/19692701
Shouldn't even have been in front of the stewards, it should be discussed in the drivers briefings and agreed from there.
