Bents finishing isnt actually that good. Despite having a lot of goals in him.

Yes I know how that sounds.

    Rofl ok then.

I personally think Fletcher may outscore both Ba and Cisse this season, mainly because I think he'll be another Bent and you'll have to rely on him for most of your goals, where as we can score from many different places, and the pressure isn't really on a single player to score.

If Cisse's off form, it doesn't really matter too much. If Fletcher falls off form, you'll be ****ting yourself.

It's not his finishing that gets him goals, he has good instinct and knows how to position himself.

Bent is all about instinct really and being in the right place at the right time, his finishing isn't that great and he usually takes a few chances to score. Plus he misses sitters fairly often.

Tash, give your head a shake! Last season we had goals from all over the park. Mcclean, Larrson, sess, Gardner all scored goals last year.

However it's ****ing hard to score from your own half! This is where most of our players have sat for most matches.

Can they now change mentality and take the game to Wigan?

Feed the Fletch and he will score...

It's the "feed" bit we're having trouble with.

I think we can definitely conclude at least that Cisse does not, contrary to popular opinion, score when he wants.

No he's not. Wouldn't say Ba or Cisse were either though.

There is some frightening truth to this and something we need as a team to rectify. However, Cisse hasnt scored in 5 EPL games and missed 2 pens this season and Ba is your only main goal threat currently. Is that not equally worrying for your lot, as Ben Arfa isnt going to get 10 goals in a season either?

Disagree there Cest. Ben Arfa is different class, could easy get 10 this season.

Fletcher is a good player, playing well. He'll have lean times and purple patches like others. On the plus side i think he still offers something to the team when he's not scoring so he looks like a great purchase so far.

Of course Cisse scores when he wants. Today he just clearly didn't want to!

Honestly not sure why peope are getting too bothered by it all, last season it took Ba and Tiote a few games to get going after Ramadan. Plus I don't mind if Cisse is rubbish for half a season if he's as good from Feb-May as he was last year!

    Sorry it was pre-season.

My point being is that he is not carrying the same kind of confidence he did when he burst onto the scene and the second season always sorts the top players form the surprise ones. If Cisse doesn't score for the next 2 or 3 games does it then become a decision to drop him from the team altogether?

No player is more important than the team, for me if Pardew feels Shola with Ba or HBA playing behind Ba is the best option for the next match then there's no reason Cisse shouldn't be left out. If a player in the first 11 isn't performing over a period of time but still gets picked it sends out a bad message to the players on the bench to me.

I agree. He's already got two this season, and if he'd taken the penalty like Pardew wanted he'd be on 3 goals after only 5 games. He seems almost unplayable this season, he's been my MOTM for us in every game this season other than Everton.

Its just my opinion. He doesnt have any kind of pedigree that suggests he can score double digit returns in a season and he will go cold (probably in the winter Lol) after this hot start.

Players like Ba, Cisse (you hope) and Fletcher (Bent as well) have blips but will net you nigh on 15 goals over a season - EVERY season.

I'll happily bet you a pint that Ben Arfa doesnt score 10 goals this season in the league?
