    What is the official story with Flavio?

    I thought he had sold his shares to Bernie.

    He featured on Sky Sports News during the after match scenes when they showed a shot of the directors box.

    I heard that Briatore is planning to crash Warnock's ride to give Fernando Alonso a chance of the manager's job...

    No that can't be right. Confusing different sports. I'm getting as bad a Flavio!

    I am still hoping that a deal goes through sometime soon. Ecclestone is Chelski at heart of course and his remarks about 'not needing to spend fortunes to achieve success' is definitely the wrong noises at ths stage. And the Mittals have also been cautious about their enthusiasm for the club saying that they are not passionate like Abramovitch. Some have asked just how many billionairres does one club need: the answer is one but that one must be willing to invest heavily if we are to make a success of the prem.

    It is no surprise that whispers of Neil Warnock being in danger of losing his job at QPR have coincided with the reappearance in the directors' box of former owner and chairman, Flavio Briatore.

    Suddenly the name of Italy's World Cup-winning manager Marcello Lippi is being mentioned again, months after Briatore was quoted as saying he'd like his compatriot in charge.

    If there were any plan to usurp Warnock - with Rangers on the brink of a Premier League return for the first time since 1996 - the lunatics really will have taken over the asylum.
