remembering Bennett who booked one Liverpool player for dissent and 30 seconds later red cards another.

This is bollox, it happens far too often, am glad I don't pay for this sh!t.

I thought we were fantastic that half, closing them down at every opportunity but showing quality on the ball. I thought the sending off was a yellow, it was a 50-50 and Evans tackle was equally dangerous.

As the game goes on United will now inevitably get more of the ball and will probably end up winning

I agree, it was a stupid and dangerous thing to do. I don't know what Evans was thinking when he went in two footed and feet off the ground, he was inviting Shelvey in to break his leg. Silly boy.

Halsey went to his top pocket at first then realised it had his brown envelope in it. See him on the mike saying "Shall I just send the one off this time, SAF?"

The media are a joke. Hearing the commentators speak about Shelvey's sending off is ****ing annoying. They're saying things like "horror tackle, no choice, brutal, lost his head" yet it wasn't that terrible <doh>
Then the BBC are going on about how "there's no place for tackles like those in the modern game", modern game this, modern game that. I know refs that would wave play on and laugh at that. I would give a yellow for the reckless nature of it but i've seen worse in this game, let alone other games.

****'s sake, it wasn't from behind, one foot forward, not two, gets the ball first and then his other foot comes in and gets tangled in the defender. This way people are going to think he was a thug and he'll get a reputation with other refs.

That being said I would say the same about Evans' tackle, yeah it was heavy but that's what they're paid to do and I don't blame Evans for it, neither of them would earn a sending off in my eyes.

Seems Gaz Nev and Jamie Redknapp agree with me.

Shelvey will get an even longer ban. Called Fergie a **** on his way off.

5 game ban on the way?

This ref has given 2 reds in 44 games. Like I said, hes been good this half for the most part. Liverpool fans claiming for everything when they have been great tackles, the Rio one at the end.

Do you agree Evans should have gone as well for actually going in 2 footed? As Redknapp & Neville both said, it's either both a red, both a yellow or nothing as both were as bad as each other.

just another disgraceful decision that somehow benefits United when they need it most, the fookin timing is classic.

Evans caught Shelvey exactly same way, both got the ball and followed through. But red for the player not playing for United

it was an accident, neither should have gotten red. They got the ball, they both got stuck in, it's a contact sport, neither even looked remotely like hurting the other, neither leg was straight

It had to take a weak referee to ruin this. The atmosphere is fantastic, the Manchester United fans behaviour before kick-off was impeccable and there wasn't ever a really bad challenge. The Shelvey one was nothing more than a yellow. Worse challenges have only warranted yellow.

No wonder Evans went down 'injured'.
