Over the MON, It's because some people count games from last season - its a relatively new journo thing, meant to make a crisis out of a drama and some supporters are buying into it - which is there prerogative. They disregard that we are uneaten in the last four games, which were in THIS season and therefore a more pertinent fact, but it is less of a crisis - not even a drama.
Just had a consignment of MONOBs delivered lads so form an orderly queue. I understand the concerns, not winning games, not finishing teams off, sitting back when we score (an SAFC trait for as long as I can remember), the injuries, the lads not playing well. Lets get a grip and as WP says (hate to be agreeing by the way) have some patience it will come. As for the MONOBs there is only one as far as I can tell and, no it's not me.
The I will happily be an anorak - and at least I'm not pulling the hood over my eyes to hide the truth. You cant ignore last seasons poor finish mate which has continued this one and to do so is not being honest with yourself. We have lost the knack of wining a game and its building pressure. Our tactics, effective last season in stemming the slide to the Championship, is not what we want to see now. We have better players than to just sit back on a 1 goal lead in games and invite trouble for ourselves. This is MoN's worst run as a manager for not winning a game and that is so typically Sunderland, to get the worst out of the best manager we have had in 50 years. You can chosse to see it your way and I will mine but lets not resort to petty put downs for having a different viewpoint eh? I have absolute faith in the manager to get it right and that hasn't changed at all but I am entitled to offer criticism if I see things differently surely?
The only absolute fact about a run is that good or bad, they all come to an end sooner or later - it is irritating we have not won for so long - if we had a lesser manager with a previous season's squad or it had been a run of defeats then it would be a concern. I have more faith in MON's abilities than any other manager since Reid was in his pomp - the run will end, as sure as day follows night.
So Cest, what did we have to play for last season? A cup run, as the slide had averted. Breakdown our games this season, Aresenal away- 0-0 a good result. Swansea away- 2-2 against a team full of confidence and keep the ball fantastically. Never underestimate the importance of confidence. Liverpool home- 1-1 yes Liverpool aren't the Liverpool they once were but to dismiss them is just daft. I would have taken the draw. West Ham away- 1-1 Big Sam knowsjust what to do in the PL, WHam will be more than comfortable this season and will be a threat against any team at home. Yes its disappointing to draw from winning positions but its not like these games are particularly easy. We've lost the knack of winning as you say, what about the knack of losing? We've done alright results wise so far, while playing badly. That will stand us in good stead later in the campaign. And Mackemman- spot on.

I don't think the results we have had so far are a concern at all. In fact I would go as far as saying I am more than happy with them. However, it is the standard of our play in general and passing in particular which concerns me, and with the players we have at our disposal it should be better.
After 11 nights away from 606 I see AMBAON is still beyond the mods reach and his contributions continue to run unchecked like some sort of forum diarrhea. Yes Cest, he is some sort of fantasist - he realises that he has a modicum of power as he knows he has the ability to upset people without lasting censorship(I too find this hard to believe and it is a major flaw of this board).
