Fantastic win but don't allow the result to disguise another performance which suggests we were the second best team and have one Paddy Kenny to thank for the points.
I don't care about the performance. 3 points is the only thing that matters, even more so given the amount of 1st teamers currently on the bench. Good news about the potential T/O or investment. As long as we're in or near the playoffs come January, we will have major investment together with possibly a number of key players returning. Fingers crossed. Keep the faith. MOT
Paddy Kenny made one good save and even that was made to look more spectacular than it really was. We were not second best and Bechio should have had the game won in the first half hour. The same problems still exist from PNE in the pre season. Our defence plays like they are complete strangers, the midfield has no bite and its positioning when not in possession is crap. It is truly scary how easily attackers get goal side of us and a decent ball would find us out, Peltier doesnt look up to it as far as I can see. I hate to say it but Diouf does look as though he is prepared to tackle back and knows how to play the game, he looks like the thinker of the team and calms things down when those around him are flapping. Varney is just ****e. It was our best performance so far.
Good to hear we played well, sky and a few others were making it sound like we were second best. Saying that if you read through your comments from "The same problems....." it doesn't sound like we were that good. Boggers I agree 3 points is the main priority, the previous two games we never looked like getting a point not alone 3 and I am just saying let's keep our feet on the ground because I know someone this week or next will say if we can win our next 3.....
What I would say is that of the 10 games we have played 8 of those teams will finish in the top ten and we will also be in the top 10 even with no TO and a threadbare squad. The only "weak" team we have played are Peterborough. The only better team we still need to play are the crisp munchers. BHA will plummet soon enough. In six games time the tables will look a bit more realiistic.
Spelling aside (thanks for the corrections oh wise and wonderful teachers of not 606). Please tell me why you disagree with what i said.
Fair comment all round Ristac. The season is 48 games long. So there is a fair way to go yet. We just need to be in the mix by the time players return & investment finally arrives. Nevermind Everton, our next priority is Brizzle.
