Have you guys got any managers that you can't stand? I've got four managers that I can't stand, I don't hate them as I think hate is a strong word, I don't hate anyone only Hitler, but he is dead now. 1-Gus Poyet-I'll never forget what he said about us and our style of play, similar to Dagenham and Redbridge. I can't stand his horrible accent and pigeon english, stop eating your t's, Mr.Poye(t). -Di Canio-How can anyone like someone who salutes Mussolini and Hitler, enough said. 2-AVB-Annoying little twit, who thinks he knows it all and couldn't admit that he made a mess of it at Chelsea. He comes over to England and has the nerve to complain about the english traditions regarding Christmas fixtures etc . 3-Big Sam-Overrated manager who has got lucky at Bolton with his hoofball tacticts. Boring manager as well. Best Manager There is only one. The one and only Nigel Adkins, true legend in my eyes. I'd love to meet him one day, it would be the highlight of my life to meet my hero. Top, top bloke who has inspired me. Not only is he a super, super guy, but he is a superb young manager, who I hope will manage England to glory one day, later down the line of course (15-20 years time) after he has won some trophies with us . He is so positive and out going. Great person and manager. Wouldn't want any other manager but him, not even Mourinho, or Wenger or Sir Alex. Remember. There's only one Nigel Adkins . Let's enjoy this season as it's finally started for us, the bad luck has gone and we've made our mark in this league. Here's to many years with Adkins at the helm .
Don't like Poyet, Allardyce, Holloway due to their behaviour in our journey getting here. Agree Di Canio cannot be forgiven for his past even if he was right recently about the keepers attitude amongst other things, he has already dug his own grave and my opinion of him will always be that he is a terrible human being. Dalgish is another one that springs to mind since he stuck up for the racist Suarez. Ones I like: Obviously Adkins. I think Mourinho is great fun, and of course great tactically.. probably my favourite manager after Adkins. Also like Moyes , Rodgers, Hodgson, Pardew to name a few.
Alex Ferguson is the best manager there has ever been. And it's not a close contest. I've always been a fan of Martin O'Neill and of course Gordon Strachan. Also a couple of less obvious mentions for Dario Gradi and Javier Irureta. If you're not familiar with their achievements, look them up.
...he may be the best, that doesn't excuse the fact that he is obnoxious. Bob Paisley was better, and he wasn't like that
For Saints best managers are NA for the past two years and long may it continue, Lawrie Mac and WGS. I feel had Strachan been here at a different period of time and not under Lowe he could have gone on to achieve so much more. Worst ones have to be the Dutch football pair of nobodies that I cannot remember their names and cannot be bothered to look them up and of course the period under Branfoot. Other managers, you have to admire what has been achieved at Manu over many years under Ferguson. I have always liked Moyes, doesn't get a lot of the credit he deserves. Coming up through the leagues we seemed to ruffle the feathers of those such as Holloway, Poyet and a few others. I have always felt many ex players that do not or cannot hack it as managers and then sit in a studio and give their insight into how it should be done each week should just quit their opinions as they know so little away from the few clubs they favour. Worst pundit for me is Garth Crooks, his team of the week is an absolute joke.
I feel there should be a mention for Ted Bates, the only other manager in Saints' history to take us from the third tier to the top, albeit over a much longer period than Nigel needed. Given the limited resources he had available, he worked miracles. And after seeing MOTD last night there is only one candidate for my most disliked manager, old saggy-face himself.
Brian Clough is a name that I feel has to be mentioned as he always had teams prepared to play football and was also a winner. Wasn't scared to give his opinion either. Dario Grady is a good shout. He did an equal job for Crewe to nearly everybody that has managed at a higher level, relatively, and boy did he bring some quality youngsters through.
Like: Adkins Martinez - Shane his chairman is a loud mouthed you know what... Dislike: Redknapp Poyet AVB
Dislike Poyet, D Ferguson Wenger and especially Fat Sam. He showed us no respect last season! Have a lot of time for Moyes and Martinez.
Moyes is a fantastic manager but hopefully he'll have an off day next Saturday along with Fellaini, Mirallas etc.
Not much, the Pompey team last season wasn't that bad, but he would have got them relegated without the 10 point deduction.
Hi Tom. Yes saw their game yesterday very good going forward especially Baines and Piennar. Think we can score against them though. Swansea had plenty of chances even after Dyer was sent off.
I had a look on KUMB last night it (I know, I just can't help it). They still hate Nigel. I have no idea why.
He will murder you if you don't. He's not called mad dog for nothing. Would love to see him and Di Canio go at it!
Automatic assumption that the man in charge of one of the world's biggest clubs is the "best ever" .... SIR Alex (right club). ONE of the best,maybe........ Given the sheer size of Utd in domestic competition, which wasn't challenged until Chelsea's and City's recent money, he should be judged on his European achievements - 2 Champions League wins. Brian Clough(Not Sir = wrong club) did that in 2 years.... with Forest!!!! He also won the league with 2 clubs; Forest and those other financial giants, Derby. Bob Paisley (Not Sir = wrong club), won how many European Cups? Three, wasn't it? The only manager in history to do so. Sir Alex's record is ridiculously impressive domestically, but he would only have one Champions League win if John Terry hadn't fallen over
About 7 years ago, I was driving down the M6 on a Sunday morning, when ahead of me I saw the Crewe Alexander Youth team mini bus. I couldn't believe it as I overtook; Dario Gradi was driving it! What a bloke. If ever a knighthood should be given out for "services to football", then this man should get one. What he has done for one club is fantastic.
