I was hoping the keeper would get sent off so we had a better chance with the penalty, but then I realised it didn't matter.
Keepers facing a Lambert pen must either think, "Oh, no, this guy never misses" or "Maybe I'll be the first keeper in 3 years to keep one out". Whichever, the first will apply.
He is already a legend for me. Was before the season began and is cementing his status further. Talismanic
I'm never sure what constitutes as legendary these days. I feel sorry for the forgotten heroes of the pre-60's, however I was born in the 80's so don't know much about them anyway, but for me as it stands Lambert is getting very close to legendary.
Terry Paine, Ron Davies, Mick Channon, Steve Williams, Matt Le Tiss, Rickie is already up there with all of them for what he has done for the club in the last 3 years.
Normally I would think "3-1 up, got a penalty, last kick of the game, doesn't matter whether it goes in or not" but because Lambert's 100% record was in danger I was worried he'd miss, even though we'd win the game. Luckily, he didn't.
By the way loved how he tried to get the ball after scoring the first goal. Statement of intent that we were in that game to win it and nothing less
