    I saw it and my first thought was: no mention of Hamilton. Why, if he was so confident before?

    Exactly what i was thinking. He's staying at McLaren. The "and down" probably refers to which Force india driver is to replace Michael.

    Yeah, unless it's Alguersuari.

    I may well be wrong but this is my thinking. Early in the season Jaime was suggesting (boasting maybe) that he had something lined up with a 'big team'. I don't remember why but I thought at the time that this may be Mercedes. Anyway, fast forward through the season: of all the top teams, IMO, Mercedes have suffered most with the tyres; who knows those tyres most intimately and gets the extensive testing that the teams are denied?

    As I said, I'm probably wrong but as we're all speculating this is my two penn'th.

    Also, Jaime's good results last year were due to a combination of making the most of the Ferrari engine's speed and, moreover, being very easy on the tyres. It wasn't only Pérez who had this facility.

    I usually agree with you Max, but in this instance i'm forced to disagree. Mercedes have FI as a feeder team of sorts. Jaime Alguersuari, whilst being a good driver, hasn't really shown enough for an ambitious team like Mercedes. My opinon would be tht Di Resta will go to Mercedes, replacing Schumacher, and JA will go to FI, replacing Di Resta. Mercedes know Di Resta, he's a safe pair of hands and a capable backup to Rosberg.

    FWIW, I think you're probably right and it'll be Algy to FI, as you say.

    <laugh>

    None of us really has a clue though.

    Yeh they did, but ultimately the contracts were terminated through agreement or financial settlements, so contracts can be bought out/broken/terminated.

    When Eddie just said Wednesday, the camera first showed Schumacher, and then Hamilton.

    Hhahaa, you did crack me up there mate.

    But I am not sure why Michael would leave, he is still fast, he out qualified Rosberg fair and square at a track that Nico is normally good at..
    I just hope a move to somewhere else occurs.

    Yes EMSC: Schumacher is ahead. But I think your assessment is rather harsh on Rosberg. Please read on…

    I do not believe Mercedes had decided before or during Q2 that they would not go out in Q3. Rosberg was almost certainly not concerned about a grid slot resulting from Q2, since he probably believed all that mattered was getting into Q3. This was confirmed by Mercedes, who apparently took the decision not to run in Q3 only after seeing the pace of the likely front runners. By this time, Rosberg had already done his two runs in Q2 and achieved his sole objective of getting into Q3.

    Thus, his grid slot is effectively a result of team strategy.

    Rosberg got through by 3/100ths, I think he'd given all he had in Q2, no one plays it that cool.
