The only positive we can take is that this defeat pushes Jewell closer to the exit door!!

Do we only have to consider candidates that have managed in the UK before? They do play football in other parts of the world too.

I think McCarthy would fit your club very well, he's a good honest pro and always gives his all, Wolves made a mistake when they sacked him.

The're dreaming carra, they still think the're a 'big' club <doh> Fact is, for once the're living in our shadow. They need to go for a young, hungry manager it's so bleeding obvious to me. Still, I hope they make another mistake and go for another journeyman and I look forward to their imminent relegation ;)

Chippy is right.

I know ‘arry is a big pal of ME and if anyone will inspire confidence in ME to invest in us again after the Keano (and Jimbo) experience it’s ‘arry, but I can’t for the life of me see it ‘appening.

I feel a bit sorry for PJ (I’m a fundamentally soft person, despite what I might have got up to in the army) and the more the circumspect of not606ers talks off how we create lots of chances, play some nice footie and have been unlucky (I haven’t seen us this season), but something definitively has to give. I now have the official raving hump over our results.

I actually said after the 7-1 vs Posh that PJ should go – this was after a series of debacles that should have alerted anyone with a brain that something was seriously wrong. I was off course derided – “a manager needs time” and all that. But a turkey is a turkey, incompetence is incompetence. The trick is to recognise it and act on it when appropriate. There’s giving people time who might actually have the potential to improve and develop, and there’s people who are doomed from the start. PJ should have gone year ago. We’ve wasted another year.

If he had any integrity about him he'd do the decent thing and walk, but whatever, it won't be long now...

The end of November seems an eternity away. Managers rarely walk these days, they want their pay off and not to be seen as quiters, even if their career takes a knock from staying in the job and showing how ****in' useless they are.

I'm a Jack with very little interest in your club and I could work it out a year ago.....

Im guessing if it becomes obvious we wont reach the target before then he'll be gone. Already/Only 5 points adrift. Hope ME/SC take more than simple mathmatics into account though when deciding if we can reach the target.

I think I would have more respect for someone who quits his job because he realises he's not good enough than one who stays on just to save face. You don't have to be seen as a quiter if you hold your hands up and say "You know what, I'm just not good enough, it's better if somebody else takes over" It would be seen more as honesty rather than jumping ship because things are tough.
Not going to happen though.

Jewell cannot inspire or motivate the team, he does not have a plan to follow (so many U-Turns and contradictory actions that it is untrue), he does not improve players with coaching or tactical acumen and his transfer tactics are verging on the ridiculous.

The lucky thing for Jewell is that he works for an equally (proabably more) inept CEO that does not have any expereince to justify running a football club.

The blind are leading the blind.

Have to say I think Jewell needs to go now. Not too sure who I would want to replace him, but I'm sure we've got our targets. The only thing I will say for Jewell is that he did save us from relegation which I believe would've happened under Keane and significantly lowered our wage bill.

I was going to comment but after reading the actual first line I decided not to bother given my honest views as its very obvious you dont read a thing I type. I thought I had had a decent debate with Spanish this week but it seems he took none of it in so there is no need to write any more
