As it was mentioned earlier Lazio are renowned for having a middle class right wing facsist support. My only issue with this thread is the generalisation that ALL Italians are racist. Why should the behaviour or political views of Lazio reflect on their Italian counterparts?

I've not been myself but Chelsea have played Inter, Milan, Juventus, Roma, Napoli and even Lazio in the last 8 years or so and I've not heard of any incidents of racial abuse. We are talking about isolated incidents here. I'm not excusing it but the fact Lazio fans were boozed up in Liverpool Street all day can't have helped.

I'm sure the other Italian clubs are ashamed of Lazio's behaviour and quite frankly don't even want to be associated with them.

I personally always root for Roma in every Rome Derby and always have done, did the same with Barca v Real up until recently, due to the political attitudes of their fans. I still have no idea how Di Canio is revered and seen as a God-like figure given his Fascist views. Had he played for any other club or a club less liked by the media he would be castigated and rightly so.

Lets have the links for the chanting then. No one ever claimed that English football fans are totally innocent, there just isn't the widespread racist chanting in the top flight that you can find across several other countries in Europe, Italy included.

I don't think that anyone's suggesting that all Italians are racist, DL.
I think that there's a clear problem with racial abuse in the Italian game, though.

Well I did think Dona's line about Italians and Racism "Two peas in a pod" was a bit harsh. That's my only point notsosmartspur.

Bash Lazio by all means but not Italians

If you read the articles in my link it should be quite clear the Ultra culture exists outside football aswell, they're basically National Front, its prevalent in Italy as it is in Spain. Spurlock is justified and grammatically correct to use Italians as plural, he does not say 'all'.

Now you're displaying a really poor knowledge of a subject you've decided to join in on, or you're wumming, that makes you rather stupid or on thin ice, I've also noted your other ridiculous suggestion Oxface better than Bale. So which is it?

If you believe I'm Wumming then so be it but I disagree that Dona is correct to say Italians and racism are "Two Peas in a Pod". For reasons I stated earlier I take huge offence to that. I don't believe Italians and Racism are two peas in a pod anymore than the English and Racism is? Unfortunately the behaviour of a minority always overshadows the behaviour of the majority. Just because the media don't believe racism is an issue in England anymore it doesn't mean to say it isn't. I just don't think as English we can get all high and mighty and take the moral high ground given the behaviour of our fans at football matches. Especially over the last 5 years or so.

As for the second comment, I didn't say Oxlaide Chamberlain was better than Bale I said I believe he has the potential to be, albeit in a different role.

At 19, he seems to display far more maturity in his play than either Walcott or Bale but time will tell. Obviously right now Bale is the better player

I did not say anything on the Two Peas in a Pod remark, even I will reserve judgement on that. You said he was wrong to use the word Italians, which I will not say again is plural usage, the context is quite clear and does not embrace ALL Italians, that is all. I see you've said nothing about your previously incorrect claims here, preferring to play the twist it and say I'm offended card. You do realise your nonsense will not be tolerated here again, and you're being watched like a hawk. This will not lapse over time.

Nobody has a problem with you being here if you've got something decent to contribute, but lets put it this way, it would not enter my head to come to your board and suggest a player being better than one of yours, I'd be inundated and rightly so, have you been drinking?

Absolutely everything I said was in context to The game of Football, every metaphor or analogy... hence the '2 peas in a pod' meaning football and the on going racism problem in Italian football.

Sometimes I cannot be bothered to appease the 'do gooders' who need to dissect every thread be it mine or someone else's in order to find a negative angle for them to approach it. Some posters thrive off this kind of behaviour.

4 people had a problem with this thread and it's wording, strangely they were all non Spurs fans. To me that in itself said something.

First it was 'Gent' who obviously had no real interest in racism but just fancied having a pop due to me being a Spurs fan.

Then it was Drogs, who I snapped back at however at least he came back to accept my explanation and added further to the debate.

Then 'NI revolution' who could have just read my exchange with Drogs to know my intention.

Then DL thought i might be implying that his mate's Italian wife is a racist...but I think DL knows that is not true...I just presumed you all knew that I was talking about strictly football..in which case I stand by my comments.

To me all but 'Gent' were sincere with their concern..I hope this clarifies things incase others still have doubts.

And thanks to my fellow Yids for knowing what I meant <ok>

    P.s I love foreign birds.

this is not just a football problem.

These people don't leave the grounds and stop being racist, it's safe to assume they are 10 times worse outside a football ground.

Italy & France has serious racism issues socially.

UEFA will have to take action but it unfortunately will be against the club, but to balance it, the club has had a long long time to root out most of the scum by now surely
