Because if we do what we usually do and hoof it from the back then it is the worst possible thing to do against West Ham, they are probably the biggest side in the premier league with a good few players well over 6ft. Its a hard game tomorrow especially with Brown, Cuellar and Johnson most likely all to be missing. I personally think we should go 4/4/2 rather than 4/5/1 and not crowd that central midfield area, personally I would line us up with.... ---------------- Mignolet ---------------- Gardner ---- O'Shea -- Bramble ----- Rose Larsson - Cattermole - Colback - Sessegnon ---------- Fletcher ---- Saha ------------ I am not a fan of Bramble at all but he is needed this week against the physical presence against the big lads West Ham, against 90% of the other premier league teams I would rather us go with Kilgallon but I remember Bolton at home last season and Killa struggling abit with Kevin Davies. I am going for a 1-1 draw tomorrow, we don't have that man in the middle who can get pick the ball up from the back and get us ticking and I think on quite a few occasions we will see the long kicks and West Ham will win the ball back.
Sess wide? No Maclean? Otherwise I'd go with that to start and bring Jimmy on if we need more threats upfront.
would use McClean as an impact sub, he has not been in the best of form lately and maybe taking him out of the lineup is what he needs and not forgetting Saha is a class act, him and Fletcher will cause problems for West Ham and I think Sess would scare the life out of Demel
I agree that it might be the kick up the backside he needs, and the same might apply to Sess if his loss of form continues.
I can't see us beating West Ham, in fact I think we'll get turned over, the fact that so far this season we took the lead 3 times & couldn't hold on to it is worrying!
I disagree, definitely can't see us getting "turned over" as you put it: Swansea are always a strong home team and they had won their first two games 5-0 and 3-0 so a point there was a good result, and Liverpool had to have been fired up by the Hillsborough revelations. West Ham are workmanlike but I can't see them posing a great goal threat. 0-0 draw for me.
They are the biggest team behind Stoke. I have a sneaky feeling he might start with Meyler for his height to play against Diame. He played Meyler against Stoke to give us some height last season!
