I am not religous. i dont have a god, but i dont claim that there is definately no god. As i dont know. I dont think life has a purpose, but I dont know that it doesnt. I just try and be a good person and do the best for future generations. All im saying is that anyone who is arrogant enough to either claim the existance or deny the existance of a deity puts themselves in a bit too high regard. Of course life has a purpose - ask any Darwinian biologist! It is to propagate the species, expand the niches in which it may exist and reproduct, and consume all resources available to achieve the above. As for the points about religion, given the glaring inconsistancies between what had been written and what the 'faithful' do, its amazing more than a handful of scholars clain a religion as theirs. Christianity bares little resembleance to the slaves' oriental cult in Rome c. 1st Centry AD, Islam is meant to be tolerant and forgiving, and this was quite clear during the expansion phase when the Arabs expanded out of Arabia in the 7th Century, giving permission for Christian churches and Jewish temples to remain, and for congragations to continue to use them (albeit with a special tax levied against the infidels)
Religions is a very interesting subject, (again probably not the place.) You can trace the development of modern religions from older religions. The similarities are striking. Religion good or bad? A car can be used to drive a dying person to a hospital. it can also be used to mow down innocent passers by. Religion is the same, it all comes down to who is using it and what they are using it for. As i said though..im not religious. Im just open minded and believe what i see and not just what im told. As humans with a sense of morality going down the Darwin route is dangerous. if we were to put all faith in survival of the fittest then life suddenly becomes a very dangerous game. rules go out the window, no more right and wrong. Just butchery and short fearful lives. Although the theory of evolution demonstartes how development occurs...We cannot live like that...the moment humans think that they are clever enough to be the selection pressures is the moment that we lose who we are completely.

And what is successful anyway? because it survived the longest, or because it survives now? Good old sharks are pretty successful - until we started anahilating them - as are viruses and bacteria. And ants and cockroaches. Talking of which though did God leave it 14 billion years to 'create' a creature in his image (which just happens to share 98% of its design with its simian cousins)? Always puzzled me. Are bonobos and gorillas in God's image too?
I did note in the vid the american statement of racial parity in the US. Complete bollox. Thing is, it ain't just white n black.
