very interesting, he appears to be saying he has the commitment to see it through. Will be a long season, let hope the break stands him in good stead.

Am I the only one who doesn't find it that interesting? A lot of it is what we already know and did we really expect him to say anything but positive things about us, he's our manager!

Not having a dig but it's just a typical bollocks football interview, people in football always get asked the same questions and most of them (barring the likes of Holloway etc) answer them pretty much the same way.

The most interesting thing for me is that there's a Hull City related article in a national newspaper that isn't negative.

It wasn't as interesting as I thought it would be but yes articles in the national newspapers are a sign that he is doing well

First the Vito Mannone national media article and now the Steve Bruce one. Even Arsene Wenger in his press conferences has praised the time Vito had @ Hull.

It can only be good for the club and the players that are here now will only add to it.

    Long may it continue.

No no, I want us under the radar, this is not good for us, other managers will know about us now and our performances will suffer!

I think a lot of us had doubts, but his signings have been shrewd and we are playing good football. Gone up a lot in my estimation and long may it continue.

I get the impression most City fans wish they'd give us some negative press so they can whinge about it, when really saying the city isn't the nicest (which wasn't Vito's point anayway) isn't that bad at all.

On the other hand, we shouldn't be so desperate in seeking praise from fellow football fans or the national papers. If we're successful this season, we'll get it through that. The Steve Bruce story is just run of the mill, as you say.

Neither of the articles are particulalry any good.

Why would you want to be under the radar? It's always nice to receive praise from the national media and from other clubs, so I say enjoy it. Just because people notice us more doesn't mean our whole stratagem is blown open and we lose every game; it doesn't work like that. The staff and players will be driven on by the compliments, look at Southampton and Reading last year; getting praise left right and centre, but they didn't change anything from day 1 and marched through the league.

Great for the club and the city to get mentions in the press whether it be local or national. Anyone see the letter in the HDM today from the woman living in Preston Lancashire, nothing but praise for the city, apart from saying Amy Johnsons statue needs the plaque cleaning.
