Assaidi also looked decent. I think with Gerrard and Suarez around him he will look muh better. Special mention to Sahin too, looked tidy
Totally agree. Not sure about Sahin defensively though. I think a midfield three of him, Allen and Lucas will be quality though. With Gerrard in the front three.
Think Coates is coming of age too Bizarre there werent than many chances missed in it,verything from both sides seemed to go in
Allen and Lucas can do the more defensive side of things whilst Sahin gets involved more. Coates was also good as was Hendo but Wisdom for me was brilliant. Can't wait to see more of him, I've heard a lot about him from you guys but haven't seen him in the reserves. Looks quality from what I've seen though
Henderson and Shelvey were top drawer, good stuff from Wisdom in his debut, disappointed not to see Yesil but I can understand that given the game situation. The defending was ****e but I dont mind since thats been the most entertaining Liverpool game ive watched in a while. (Especially because i was happy whenever Young Boys scored too since I also want them do well, so them scoring 3 goals with Liverpool still winning is pretty much ideal for me.)
Best players tonight Henderson, Wisdom and obviously Shelvey. Dissapointed in Suso, Pacheco and Enrique. I'd rate the players as follows: Jones - 5 Not at fault for first but should have claimed the second and came out too early for 3rd. If he'd stayed on his line Enrique might have got there Wisdom - 8 didn't really put a foot wrong defensively and you could see his determination to win that header Coates - 7 couple of hopeful long balls first half, other than that did ok. Gets an extra point for scoring Carra - 6 Didn't do too bad, out of position once or twice but did ok Enrique - 5 Generally poor. caught on the ball, out of position a few times and at fault for a goal Henderson - 8 very tidy, worked hard all game and got involved going forward second half. Sahin - 6 Did ok, nothing special though. Suso - 5 anonymous apart from 1 decent run should have shot instead of trying to go past everyone then too Downing - 6 couple of good runs, couple of balls into the box. Tried hard but not much of a threat really Asaidi - 6 again couple of good runs but never came to anything Pacheco - 0 dont remember any significant touches or decent runs. Poor movement and not involved enough to even get a score Borini - 7 was at least a distraction for Coates' goal and good run to take the defender away for Shelvey to score his second Shelvey - 9 won the game. 2 good goals and contibuted more than anyone else the short time he was on Sterling - not on long enough to get a rating
harsh that on Suso, you have to see he is a flair player and creative and will make mistakes but I thought overall he did well. You can see his quality. Agree on much everything else.
Not sure I was watching the same game as you. Suso was excellent on the ball, kept it, passed it, took on his man numerous times and got into good positions. To give him a rating lower than Carragher (who was the worst player on the pitch) is inexcusable.
all we gotta do now is get the other team to score an own goal at the start of the game to give us confidence to score... we got more goals in that match than in 4 PL matches combined...
I saw your result and thought it might be a boost for the weekend but looking at your team not too many are likely to play. If I was BR I would of used it to get some confidence in the first team and get them fired up for United. Hopefully they will still be thinking about the Premier League rather than a 5-3 win away from home in Europe.
Didnt think he was that bad. Didn't cost us any goals unlike Enrique and actually touched the ball unlike Pacheco. Didn't see anything special from Suso, watched quite a bit of the reserves and u18's last couple of years so I know he's a talented player but I didn't see the magic there today. Seriously concerned about our defense though, we dont look capable of a clean sheet.
Carragher was partly at blame for the first, let the player turn and then was too slow getting back. Enrique takes the blame but only because he had the awareness and pace to get back and try cover for Carragher. The third, he got bumped off the ball way too easily when we had a 3 on 1 and instead of then bringing the player down and earning a yellow for the team he let hi turn and play in a through pass. As well as giving the ball away and kicking it out for throws quite a lot. I love the man, but he was poor today, and has been poor this season when played.
Tough decisions now for BR but good to have. I would have little ear verbalage to Hendo, Suso, Widom, the youngsters and let them know they did well for us and to keep it up. Senior players should be up for it now as the boys have showed they can step in and take the role ( not fully yet but a game or here if they continue to underperform).
Suso and Wisdom played well tonight, as of course did super sub Jonjo. Coates looked better than Carra and is surely now third choice. Promising first half for Assaidi.
