Whilst I can't remember frequently insulting old people. I certainly did not mean to paint all people over 50 as racists. If you've somehow got that from what I said then I apologise.

Out of interest, to the posters who take offence to anything chant at football that would break the 9pm watershed; I would be interested in your age and how long you have been following city.

*I dont actually expect any honest replies.

As for your Muslim comment, that has nothing to do with it, that's basically just you assuming everybody who's the same colour has the same religion, which is incredibly offensive and ignorant.

    At last!

By the way cut out the ageist comments, I'm 56!

Would anyone like to join me this evening at 8pm for a candle-lit vigil in Pearson Park?

There will be world music, face-painting, African drumming lessons and doula-mentoring.

    Let's make a difference.

The original point of this thread, which I authored was a response from the point of view of three 24 year old lads and city fans to what we viewed as disgusting chanting. It was also an open apology to other city fans who had to hear it and Leeds fans who I really hope didn't hear it, because everything they chanted embodied things which I find morally repugnant and inhuman.

The likelihood is there were people who knew either of the two guys who were murdered, why do they deserve to have 'Galatasaray' chanted at them by five idiots. Mocking the fact that someone they knew and loved in some cases was murdered. Is that really fine? Is that really ok? Turn the tables would you like someone chanting the name of something associated with were one of your loved ones was murdered? I just see no logic there whatsoever.

I don't see how chanting about an ex player (regardless of who he played for) who killed himself recently and proclaiming vicious and horrible lies about him is in anyway 'alright' or 'fine' or more to the point justifiable.

There's obviously more ignorant and childish people on here than I thought.

The fact that the thread has inevitably ended up in a never ending argument propagated by a load of right wing idiots saying racism is fine, has not however surprised me.

In my experience this phrase is only ever used by a racist, shortly before making a racist comment. Agree completely with the sentiment of the recent posts, the constant bickering and racist undertones often displayed on this thread are why i've moved to be a passing observer (at best) rather than active contributor, I just can't be doing with it.Over reaction or what? How would some of you have reacted listening to Jim Davidson's Chalkie White? Or Bernard Manning? Yet they were mainstream and accepted. Ok attitudes have changed and its not acceptable now to make jokes re the colour of peoples skin or their habits and cultures etc, just in the same way Homosexuality once outlawed is now deemed to be legal and just in the same way that drug addiction single parent families and relationships outside of marriage are all not only accepted but some seemingly promoted.

How long before you are going to say labelling Newcastle as Geordie Town is racist? Leicester is getting more like Pakistan every day due to its ethnic majority.
That is not a racist statement. But a simple fact, yet a simple adding of istan to highlight this fact and it suddenly becomes racist? All the chant is doing is pointing out to the predominantly white Leicester fans that they are slowly being ousted from their hometown.
What is racist about that? Its just taking the mickey out of immigration patterns. They are being over run by Asian nationals and their descendents.well said
