I'm 33, married and have a 2 year old. I design railways there's not much call for that in Bishop Auckland where I used to live so I had to move to just outside of Nottingham for work. Caught food poisoning about 5 years ago which nearly killed me (these southern kebabs are ****e, not like the ones back home) spent nearly 3 years off work in hospital and lost half my body weight (not too bad though, cos I worked for a massive company had full sick pay and benefits for the 3 years). Now I'm back to full fitness and shortly to move companies for more money and better perks (loyalties a wonderful thing, but no choice really), Been a Sunderland fan for as long as I can remember and just miss the banter of my mates on match days, but the characters on this site (and the old 606) makes up for it in a small way. Just wanted to chip in and say even though we all have different lives and experiences we're all here because of our love for SAFC.

I know, it's amazing how different we all are but can still chat on here, just because we support the same football club. Before the West Brom match, I saw a bloke standing next to the bus stop by where I live, I'd never met him before in my life but I had a conversation with him simply because he was wearing a Sunderland top. It's the same everywhere I go, I saw somebody in France a couple of years back who was watching the last game of the season and we talked like old friends!

Yeah, it's strange it's a tribal thing. But if you take away the football and we'd have nothing in common, but on here we can talk bollox for hours (some can talk more bollox than others though.)

Just came across this Thread and I cant remember it being posted. Its interesting reading what people are really like behind their usernames. I didnt comment back then so here we go:

My names Danny im 34 years old. Im born and bred in Stockton-on-tees.
Ive supported Sunderland since 1987 when my dad (JoRviK JoE) took me to my first game at Roker in 1987. It wasnt the most exciting of games (a 1-1 draw with Wallsall) but I was hooked from that day on!

Ive been married for nearly 2 years, after 2 heart breaking miscarrages my wife is now pregnant with twins. Boy or girl as soon as they learn to walk I will be bringing them to the SOL!
Im a CNC Machinist at Caterpillar where Ive worked for 9 years!

I missed this first time as well, so.....

    My name's Allison and I'm 46
Started following the lads when I was 11 and had a crush on Gary Rowell
The crush went -mainly- but love of Sunderland carried on
Moved to Nottingham at 18 to do degree and ended up staying on there.
Met and married my husband there and converted him to a Sunderland fan - after we'd been to see us get beat 6-0 at Derby so he was under no illusions
Moved to Middlesex in early 90 s and lived there until returned to sunderland almost 4 years ago
Don't have any children but do have a cat -she's black and White so has go wear a red collar at all times
We used to have a black cat called Jerry, but he was unlucky and wasn't allowed in the house when we were playing - hence my user name

I am 49 (big five-oh next month), married with 3 kids, two girls (15 & 11) and a boy (13). The lad has very complex special needs due to a brain infection when only 3 weeks old, but is a happy soul and I take him to matches regularly. He's a bit of a Jonah as we have lost every time he's been! I am a tax adviser working as a consultant to a firm in central London and also have my own practice in NE Surrey. Born in South Shields, I have supported the lads for over forty years and am still waiting for my second trophy, which will hopefully come before I peg it. Not too much more to say really, except I am extremely handsome and have a massive cock :)

I was born in Sunderland and lived there till I was 21. Have been a government employee for 26 years now. I am married with 4 children, 2 boys aged 12 and 3, and twin girls aged 5 months. Moved to Redcar just over 2 years ago because of work but now the job is moving back to Longbenton so will be moving back up to Horsley again. Supported Sunderland all my life but unfortunately very rarely get to matches anymore (shift work & family commitments) but I always fight for the red & white righteous cause. All my in laws are Geordies but are absolutely top notch people, the father in law is a Newcastle season ticket holder.
By the way please back the action of the civil servants & teachers etc cos this government is making us pay for the banks & politicians ineptitude with running this country. They are shafting us on all aspects.

You certainly have my backing mate...I hate the way the government and the national media are trying to shift the emphasis away from the banks to the government employees for the mess we are in..And I'm not a civil servant or a teacher by the way..
