http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...674?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Probably ties in with him not being in the squad at the weekend. Worried about the wages though - Leeds were reported to have asked Spurs to pay 75% of Jenas' wages and Leicester aren't exactly rolling in dosh. Following on from the Palcious thread it could potentially end up that we are paying our players to play elsewhere because of our inability to trim the squad in the transfer window! Leicester are also interested in Higgy on loan after a previous failed attempt.
I think that was the intention (along with several of the others) but there were obviously no takers. It shows that "Managing" a football team is not just purely about results on the pitch, its the financial implications you place on yourself by doing bad business or not the right business. Ultimatly we have half a dozen reasonably paid players who are of no use to us and are affecting the payroll - this must affect who we can and cant afford moving forward?
Smithers Surly? It would be better to KEEP K.J. here IF we are paying him, rather than let A N Other club have him for what would be Zero £s it just does not make sense to me. (Edit) Isn't K.J. one of the 25 man squad anyway? Just wondering is all.
I'm not sure that I'd want him to go, as yet we know nothing about Owen's fitness, and that would leave us with, just Crouch and Jerome, as I don't really class Walters as a "striker".
It would appear that i am on my own here, KJ is bone idle and lazy. OK we don't know how fit Owen is, but do you realise he is the first striker brought in by Pulis who doesn't need an oxygen mask due to altitude sickness. Please tell me that some of you remember the great Steino, 5'5" of pure skill who needed and got passes to feet. We now have the midfielders we have craved for so long, so at least wait and see what happens first. Roy
I'm not doubting any of that, Adam and NZonzi both looked good against Man City, with them and 2 wingers we should be able to create, but if Owen turns out to be unfit or gets injured we could end up finding ourselves in need of a striker, even a lazy one, so I would [NOT] get rid of him just yet. Who knows, maybe he's been out long enough to want to try harder for a bit again.
Er, don't you mean you would NOT get rid of him yet? Shouldn't have got him in the first place IMO. ~® are you the (p*ss) artist formely known as The Welsh Mourinho perchance?
Yes, that is what I meant. . . I don't think we should have signed him either, he's had his moments, but really shone. We should have signed Fletcher instead, Wolves have made 5 million off him, we'll lose money on Jones. And nope, that wasn't me, I used to be PotterPistol.
Smithers Of course you are not on your own mate.. fully agree that, given his perormances overall Jones should be sold in Jan. MY point was, rather than send him out on loan and " we pay his wages whilst he's playing for another club" I don't agree with at all. Personally I would like to see Crouch and or Owen/Jerome up front. And yep, I well remember Steino and Sheron our very own SAS Can not wait to see the next home game as I missed the Citeh game. It's now up to Pulis to play the "right" players and system. Slightly off topic but.. I read in todays Sentinel. Hudson who said " Charlie Adam has the brains and the feet to feed the two forwards, something that Hudson like us had already seen the obvious.... A decent ball player. I can't find the link but it's a great read by a great player.
