I remember the old 606. Rarely posted as I found it rubbish in comparison to this site. I basically never go to an extreme but the fact I had to be careful with what I said on that site tells you a lot!
606 drawbacks = the Draconian moderation/removing posts with no explanation. 606 plus points = the interaction between different sets of fans, plus the ease with which to comment on a full range of sports including cricket , golf, tennis, snooker etc.
Agree with this cromer, if this site had as many posters and if you could have 'cross board' threads too not606 would be near perfect IMO Calling Dave/Maestro, why were cross board threads stopped on here and never re-introduced ? It would make matchday threads so much better.
Cross- board threads were abused by a few numpties crossing with GC and that led to a lot of abuse, in fact it very nearly closed the Newcastle board as they were subjected to a siege-mentality attack resulting in dozens of posters leaving the site! It's still under discussion as to whether or not bring it back for matchday threads! We'll let you know!
Surely when they see Canaries Soccer's matchday threads, they'll reconsider? They probably won't understand a word of them, but the graphics, fireworks etc should swing it
Believe it or not, some of the mods are dead set against them returning, most of us are saying don't include GC in the deal, make it applicable to one other board only, and give mods of both boards the power to deal with any problem! Under the old system, only the mods from the board where it was first posted had control of the moderation of the thread, so clever dicks were starting one from a board that had no moderators, meaning only admin could deal with it!
What does GC stand for? This whether or not to reintroduce cross board threads sounds confusing. Glad I don't have to make a decision!
The lunatics have been known to take over the asylum on here too, on the odd occasion! Not naming any names, of course
I'm not being biased when I say we have a pretty good board here. We can discuss things and not go over the top and we don't resort to arranging car park brawls with our southern neighbours so I think we're doing ok. It very rarely goes well over the top.
Ah! found it at last, dave, but I´m still hoping that some solution can be worked out, as they not only give better banter, but they also make life a lot easier in some cases.
what i miss from BBC 606 - the vibrancy, as every team had members. when it closed people dispersed and sole-team boards were set up like the snake pit and reading-rendezvous to name a few. THere's plenty of empty boards here (Col u for example) what i don't miss from bbc 606 - the nazi moderators. Having to wait 2 mins to post again
I've dipped in once or twice, there's some serious pervs on there if you ask me ! ... ... Some really need help ...
