It seems that the Ipswich fans are not sure about Paul Jewell... he plays a very attacking game but they can't defend. So what do we do?.... Comments pls AllHell PS, I'm sure Belv will be along with his excellent match thread very soon
We go and defend for 70 minutes, conceding 2 or 3, then with 15 minutes to go we remember we too are allowed to attack. We pull it back to one goal behind, then have a header off the line in the last minute and lose by the odd goal. We then tell ourselves we can build on this and if we play like we did at the end we will eventually start winning
We find a mad scientist who can blend CP's defensive brain with PJ's attacking brain and give the monster a job!
thats whats happened the last 3 games. i hope we go 451 at ipswich. kerkar in the middle with stephens and hollands. bwp left and green on the right. fuller up top.
Now we can see there are a few problems I think we should go the football manager technique.... I will happily conceade 8 goals a game as long as we score 9 All out attack people
Now if this was football manager I'd go 4-2-3-1 with: Hamer Solly - Morro - Cort - Evina JJ - Stephens Green (Winger) - Kerkar (advanced playmaker) - Cook (Inside Forward) Fuller/BWP In reality: Hamer Solly - Morro - Cort - JJ Green - Hollands - Stephens - Kerkar BWP - Fuller
I hope you boys give us a right good tonking! If that's what it takes to get our useless scouse **** of a manager to **** off once and for all!
I went with a more modest: I think that this is one game we can and should win. Looking at statistics, we have a better defense due to less conceded goals, and have scored more than Ipswich. If, like Powell has stated on BBC Sport, we need to start games better. If either of the teams lose, it'll put immense pressure on the managers to pick up results.
I wouldn't hold your breath. It really depends what Charlton turns up. If we play like we did in the first 3 games then we could well come and get 3 points, but play like we have in the past 3 games and I fear it will be you tonking us.
Agree 100%. Still learning his trade - it's a step up for him as well as the players. they'll come good, but in time for Saturday? Who knows.
It's not just about Saturday its about the whole season and surely he has earnt the right to be your manager for the whole season. At Ipswich we have suffered managerial incompetence for the past 4 years and we are now desperate! I don't see that scenario at your club and all it takes is for the fans to buy into what Powell is trying to do. We unfortunately have crisis written all over us and we require radical change.
Don't get me wrong - I think he has earned the right to be our manager for the season. My point was that he will get it right, but whether they start on Saturday, or 2,3,4 games time, it's hard to tell.
My son's bird is a Charlton fan and he's told her that she can go by herself on Saturday as he doesn't want the piss ripped out of him after we lose!
