Didn't it just go up from £7m on August 1st?

What happens, happens. I'm sure we've got people lined up to replace him.

Which won't be signed because their clubs want about 5p more than Ashley's willing to pay.

Well, we need someone with pace and someone that provides physical threat also, if he does leave.

I hope for gods sake we don't just buy some random cheap foreigner. I will have faith in the scouts, but I just hope we try and get someone quality for a good price and reasonable wages.

If the price has gone upto something reasonable I'm not that bothered.

I've kept quiet on the Demba spouting ****e issue for a few days but TBH if he said it... good riddance, cant get shot of him quick enough for me. If not then stay, get your head down, work hard and keep quiet but if it was his agent talking rubbish he should sack him for putting words in his mouth.

If he does end up leaving though for what ever reason I have faith we will have a suitable replacment lined up.

Yeah, but the press always big this sort of thing up.

All Demba Ba said was he was unhappy for while, but he still comes back and works hard, and he's scoring goals.

Can't really be too critical. It's not as if he's playing half arsed anymore, he's really trying.

    This.

And why the hell is Pardew putting that information out there anyway? Does he want rid? Or is he saying 'two can play at that game?'. Either way both parties need to shut up and get on with the football.

    Please

I think it's both parties failing to reach an agreement, or it's taking too long, and Pardew is forcing Ba to choose.

I personally think all Ba would be asking for is assurance that he's gonna be the main striker, but I don't think Pardew is willing to say that, with Cisse here.

All Ba actually said, in response to a question about whether when he came on he was determined to show that Pardew made a mistake in not starting him, was:

"I was very determined because I have not been happy with a few things. The results are not that bad but not that good. But after the bad comes the good"

OK, maybe is an ideal world he wouldn't say he has not been happy, but it's a pretty innocuous statement that he hasn't been happyt with the start of the season, that this has motivated him, and that things are looking up.

His agent and brother have been mouthing off, but Ba has said very little.

And I expect that Ba's agent has been making the terms of his contract known, so that Pardew wasn't letting any new info out of the bag

What's up with Pards anyway? F***ing frequently inviting bids on our players in the open? It happened before the transfer window closed when he openly invited bids for Cabaye and Tiote and co. and it's happening again.

If that is all he said, firstly I forgive you Demba <3 but he should look at finding a new agent because the guy is tainting his name. Ba has only not started a handful of games so far this season (we all knew there would be mass rotation this season) and running your mouth like that can cause more trouble than good no matter who says it.

The old old story of Agents putting themselves first before their clients.

Unlike players of yesteryear, today's players are mostly well educated and knowledgeable guys and could do their own negotiating, they don't need the greedy hanger on lecherous agents.

I agree that Ba has to bring his agent into control, but it can be trickier than it sounds. In June Ba had to publicly announce that one agent who was getting a lot of press coverage discussing an imminent Ba transfer was not his agent and that he had nothing to do with him.

Letting your agent slip the muzzle once is a mistake anyone can make, but he's got to shut him up once and for all.

His brother is a total ****. He's always spouting **** and making it out to be more than it is.

I hope he sacks his agent and tells his bro to shut the **** up.

I think if Pardew promises Ba plenty of games as the central striker and a 5 year contract on 50k a week, he'll sign.

This is why it's even more important we learn to play 4-3-3 with two wingers, not two strikers, because this way, we can rotate the strikers around, and they can both play in the central role.

It's also key we stay in Europe, because if we don't have the high volume of games to play both of them often, then we'll lose one of them.

Ba has nothing to lose even if his agent goes shooting his mouth off...So I don't think he'll do a thing to stop him
