Wonder if there is something in the he's got dodgy knees theory otherwise why would Pardew advertise the 7mill clause was still active - sounds as though they may want rid in January

Contract talks have reached an impasse & as you say, advertising the fact that the clause is still active in January.

A bit strange. Seems like both player & club are pissed off.

This looks like a clear sign they want rid, or at least Pardew does.

Would be crazy, the lad is a beast of a player, far superior to Cisse IMO.

Worth £7million of anyone's money, and the dodgy knees don't seem to be a big issue to me!

Makes you wonder if it's a personal thing.
Like maybe Parsnip thinks the lads attitude is wrong in training or summat?

Go on Marty, get in there lad.

    Billy,

Imagine him and Fletch in a 4-4-2?

I know it'd never happen realistically, but ****ing hell they'd be a pairing, Ba fills Fletchers gaps, as in his movement outside the box, and Fletcher is more of a 'sniffer' than Ba, would be a great combo.

To be fair, with a buyout clause, they can't reject our bid, but I do think Ba has an affinity with their fans, and that would stop us getting involved.

Aye & Johnson & Jimmy, (if he gets his ****ing head sorted), bombing down the wings firing crosses into the pair of them.
    Mouthwatering!

Can't see anything being a problem to the player as far as us getting involved mind. He's an African Frenchman & hasn't exactly been there for years.

And you know what they say, shy bairns & all that?

All he can do is say no.
We've nowt to lose by having a go.

Not really an issue - if he goes and Cisse continues in the vein of form he's been so far this season they'll struggle for top half!! Cisse has looked miles off the pace in the first few games but Ba has been on fire - He failed his medical at Stoke and got a pay as you play at Newcastle didn't he? I think he is a class goalscorer and a very very good footballer too - just his knee may well be a problem

I don't think he's on pay as you play mate, I think they just took the risk, and fair play they hit a winner.

Just seems strange, remember when Pardew got the job he was quite humble & kinda showed he was stunned to have such a big job, maybe now he's settled, and people are behind him, he thinks he wants to stamp some authority on the place.

Just a theory, but he has previous along these lines.

He's on 50k and agent wants to double it. Must be a reason why no one went in for him in summer. Agents a greedy bastard so that's reason why he didn't move is my bet.

Ba seems happy enough when playing up top, and we will have enough games with Europe. He just retweeted someone who said that Ba is happy in Newcastle.

    He won't get 100k a week anywhere, not with a £7million fee.

Seems his agent is a right cock.

In theory Cisse and Ba should be a fantastic partnership but it doesn't work that way as both want to be the main striker.

You're right, he clearly wouldn't move to Sunderland. Regardless of how pissed off he may become with us I can't see him taking what would be a step down after his solid performances.

Plus he has repeatedly said he is totally happy here anyway

Don't think he's far superior to Cisse. He's more versatile, but Cisse in form is fantastic. Superb finisher, great work rate, and he can pass well also.

If both were on form at the same time, then I'd say there'd be very little between then.

It seems when Ba is on form everyone raves about him. When Cisse is on form, everyone goes mental and says he's better than Ba.

    It's all about form really.

Rofl, very funny. If memory serves me right, he was a ghost for most of the last derby at SJP. You guys were all talking about how you didn't even know he was there.

Then what happened a couple of games later? lol.

He's been poor so far this season, but he's almost scored a few times. And did you see his goal vs Ivory Coast? Proves that the class is permanent, form definitely temporary.

The ACON is on again in Jan 2013. Newcastle will have a few players missing so maybe he wants to sell and bring someone else in who's not African.

Actually, Ivory Coast are currently 4-2 up on Agg in the qualifier against Senegal, if Senegal don't win, they're out. That means we'll only lose Tiote, and Ba and Cisse will stay home.
