Hot off the press Pompey News âPortoâ submit bid for Pompey Posted by kylewhitworth ⋅ September 19, 2012 Pompey administrator Trevor Birch has another formal bid on the table after UK group âPortcoâ submitted an application to buy the club. This bid takes the interested parties in Pompey to five with Portpin and the Pompey Trust in advanced stages of completing their bids. Sulaiman Al Fahim and Laurence Bassini are the others with interest but remain outsiders. Portco are fronted by Scottish-born Harry Kerr who runs an investment firm by the name of Avalon. Mr Kerr is a Hibernian and Arsenal fan and has experience in various financial services businesses. The bid has not been officially confirmed by PKF but further news is expected in the morning and we will keep an eye out for figures and details behind the bid.
Let's just hope that they don't keep this saga running for longer because of the new interest from other parties. The need is for now not next year or maybe the year after or.........................
How many more new bidders to appear on the scene ? They are like buses, you wait ages for one to turn up, and then suddenly four turn up, one after the other.........
Well we're on 5 now Wooperts. 1. PST 2. Portpin/Chanrai 3. Al Fahim/Middle East Consortium - or maybe just Al Fahim........ who knows, who can tell.... 4. The ex-Watford guy - Lawrence Bassini 5. Portco/Harry Kerr - the Hibernian & Arsenal fan Any more for any more.................?
And they are unreliable, you never know whether they will turn up or not. Plus they are very noisy and the conductor wears a ridiculous hat. Plus you get all excited when one appears on the horizon, but it's never going in the right direction, so you end up disappointed. I think you are on to something with your bus metaphor!

Try a Rio bus!! You don't need to go to a theme park for a thrill. A ride on a Rio bus is far more exciting as those drivers drive their mechanical beasts as if possessed by the spirit of Ayrton Senna!!
#anyone but chainrai I want the PST- but I would accept the Arab Consortium, or the new bidders, if they had the money!
Why do these corporations have such naff names? Portco, Portpin, here wait a minute, they are very similar!
3rd eye wrote at the top "Porto" submit bid for Pompey! At first sight, I though- jheeze, the european giants from Portugal! I was dissapointed to scroll down and see it was actually Portco .. In terms of owners- as it's just happened at Watford with the Pozzo family, who own both Watford and Udinese, would you like what happens there, to happen at our club ?? Basically, they have an agreement which means that they can loan players to each other, free of charge, so they can get experience in another team. Watford get the players, and Udinese get their player's experience, or vice versa. Win-Win. Would you like a similar scheme at Pompey ??
I didn't notice the typo - (it was a cut & paste from Pompey News) Apparently there is now a 6th bidder - said to be someone who tried to buy Newcastle a year or so ago. As for the swapsies - it would be nice just to have an owner.
