Just think, he could have put the £12 odd, whatever he pays for his litre of Vodka into the *Fundraising for MACMILLAN* fund and done his body and mind some good and helped a very worthy cause.

Tavernier was shocking against Atromitos in the first leg, but he looked really good going forward in the second half of the second leg.

Throw in Shola as lone man up front and stick Campbell and Sammy playing off him in a front three. All geordie dream frontline. It'll never happen but think I just jizzed a bit.

Seriously though, get Shola on to destroy the defense, keep Gosling out because he's ineffective, why not use Amalfitano. I know I keep mentioning him but I was impressed by him in Greece and think he deserves more game time.

Well then I think we may see something pretty much like my line up.

Pardew has made it pretty clear where his priorities lie - - keep the first teamers fresh for the league, let the fring players show their worth.

I agree that Amil would be a good alternative to Gosling. I think obertan will spoil the all Geordie dream attack.

Time for the kids to step up

Newcastle squad: Steve Harper, Rob Elliot, James Tavernier, James Perch, Steven Taylor, Mike Williamson, Davide Santon, Shane Ferguson, Mehdi Abeid, Vurnon Anita, Gael Bigirimana, Romain Amalfitano, Dan Gosling, Haris Vuckic, Sylvain Marveaux, Gabriel Obertan, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi, Adam Campbell.

Only Saylor and Santon are what i would consider 1st XI players. Unfortunate to lose Cisse as we could need some more fire power upfront. On the whole though its pretty much as everyone expected with the first team sitting this one out to rest up for norwich on Saturday.

Would expect Santon and Saylor to start on the bench.

It's time for Shola to cement his place as our second highest goal scorer in European competitions (and of course, the scorer of more European goals than the combined totals of all SAFC personnel over the whole of their history)

    ----Shola---Campbell-----

    Marv-----------Obertan

    -----Bigi--amalfitano------

    Perch-Good-Willo--Tavernier

    --------Harper---------

I'd go with that and bring on maybe Gosling and Sammy at some point.

Pards message to the players before tomorrow night's game, "Don't get on the plane if you don't think you can win".

I think some of the teams you guys are putting out, are a bit unrealistic.

Maritimo are a good side, we'll need a strong team.

I don't think it's right we start a 17 year old in a tough Europa tie. He should come on as a sub I think.

I remember Tayls and Rammage being blooded quite young.
Sometimes when a lad is on fire you just have to play him. Remember the young Rooney.?

If he's good enough, he's old enough.

It'll be a good stage for him to show us what he can do.

Well fair enough, but I don't think he's experienced enough yet. But then again, only Pardew knows.

    I'd personally play -

    ----Cisse----Shola----

    Marv------------Obertan

    -----Bigi--Jonas-------

    Ferguson-Tav-Willo-Perch

    ----------Harper--------
