My view of the situation. As stated in a thread a while back I believe that it is not so much the manager but the squad that should be given time. That is simply because i'm tired of the squad being completely ripped apart and rebuilt only to get 2 years into a managers reign and we're at the same point and I still have confidence that this is the nucleus of a good squad. Not saying that this will happen, just saying it is a risk. The managers ME likes to employ will always have players they like to work with. So many targets have been missed or not signed for whatever reasons, especially during the last few weeks and it confuses me as to why though it does appear that it is more down to the style of play and tactics than necessarily the personnel. That's why it's concerning to learn that PJ has ruled out bringing a defensive coach in, yes the whole team should defend but I cant see how getting a dedicated coach in for a couple of sessions to help the defense is a bad thing. I don't think it's fair to say Jewell has spunked 1.75 million on Taylor, as stated the attack hasn't really been firing on all cylinders. We won't be winning many games if we cant score. I've heard he's made an impact and I wont be surprised if he scores tonight. If not tonight then relatively soon. Generally where Jewell gets his support from is the perceived reclamation of Ipswich Town from Roy Keane's Ipswich. He says the right things, generally watching the football is better even if the results overall are similar to worse, the team appears to have more of a team spirit. One thing I think we can all agree on is we want to see the situation turned around ASAP. Starting with a win tonight and hopefully the confidence will start coming back into the squad.
I was not trying to point score I just want good debate rather than ambiguous statements!! He argued against one of my posts so I asked what he disagreed with/agreed with in that post so that we could have a debate but he never answered!!
Defenders are a priority but we needed a player like Taylor (who in my view looks a very good signing) so if these sort of players come up and are available we shouldn't wait until we get a CB before we get others in (we could be waiting for some time!!)
As long as Jewell's your manager of choice I doubt that you'll be scoring many points! Only playing, mate!

I know we are bad at defending but I didn't expect Tommy Smith to score more goals than our strikers!
I take full responsibility for his own goal i was praising him earlier saying he is getting unfair grief........shows what i know....
What a frustrating night!! Same old story played well, missed a load of chances then concede 2 goals out of nothing!!!
Played well hey PTC, the guy on 5 live said we were absolute garbage as was the game, stop flipping dreaming and accept the fact that Jewell is a waste of space and a change is needed. Second from bottom, leaking goals and can't score for toffee but whats the panic?
Just noticed Crystal Palace managed to get defender Danny Gabbidon on a free, and there was me thinking there were no defenders left in the world.
I was a poster on the old 606 board as I used to go to all games. As I rarely go, I was going to stay off this forum. However, enough is enough & rather than swear at the tv, thought I should register here instead. My 1st question is do the players want to play for Jewell. It seems to me as soon as we go a goal behind, we don't look like coming back & when the commentator said there had been a 2nd goal at PR, I knew which team had scored before they went to the ground. As for our centre back situation - it's all been said - maybe if all posters met up ouside PR for next game & started banging our head against a brick wall - someone might get the hint.
This is why so many people leave this forum!!! Because there are soo many C**ts on here wuming their people from their own team!!! I've had many people message me about it and I think you all can tell who the names are they mentioned!! Rather than actually rejoicing in loosing why don't you have a f**king debate, rather than taking the p*ss trying to point score in winding people up who just disagree with you. We all want the best for town on here and the behaviour of some is shameful. No wonder there are very few numbers on here now!!! All of you on here are grown men, why don't you act like it!!!! It is a very worrying situation, tonight apparently the defence played fairly decent tonight but there was just no quality upfront!!!
