Shabby reckless challenge early on, giving the ball away too often, caught out for the pen. Not a good start for Neuton Forestieri - good going forward plenty of energy, looks like he might be a bit of a find. What do you chaps think of the new guys so far..??
In an ideal world, Taylor and Mariappa wouldn't have asked to leave, and Deeney wouldn't have gotten himself a prison sentence. Throw those three players, fully fit, into a starting lineup with the eight players from other positions that started last night (minus Cassetti for Doyley), and you've got a starting lineup to match the best in the division. I hope that's not seen as dodging the question. What I'm trying to say is that most of the players who have established their places in the team are good enough. If Sean Dyche were re-appointed as manager on Monday, he would've picked more or less the same team as last night, apart from Cassetti and maybe Yeates. But the players that we most desperately needed to step up (centre backs and strikers) haven't for various reasons.
Neuton made the reckless challenge early on because he really had to. The ball was given away by Nosworthy I think?....and letting Buckley through on goal isn't really a good idea. I don't think he gave the ball away much at all. He was being given it without much room at all and he was very well composed on the ball, playing the ball out of the defence. In the first half he made maybe one or two mistakes but they weren't costly. As far as I'm aware Pudil gave away the penalty, not Neuton? Or did you mean that it was his fault leading to the chance? Second half he gave it away a few times but I wouldn't completely blame him. Seemed to be some confusion sometimes... other then that I liked his eye for goal, although when it blazes over it's not great..... but it was a change to passing it around the midfield getting nowhere. I liked his pace, his passing, and the way he went into challenges... with confidence and aggression. IMO he impressed me. If anything it seems more and more obvious that Nosworthy is the issue.... the others seem to work well with each other at the back. Forrestieri was the highlight player for me. Like Vydra he lacked time on the ball first half.. but he worked his socks off, chased every ball and when on the ball had lots of flair. I think he and Vydra are currently our best players in terms of what's been shown so far, although Almunia and Hogg have looked good too. With a better formation and more width in the team we should see him get more of the ball and get more chances.
I would put money on it that Neuton is sent off before too long, after being booked he then got away with slapping a Brighton player around the side of the head. Another time he won't be so lucky Forestieri on the other hand looks and plays like a mini Tevez, he looked very sharp and very eager to run and work hard. For me one of the plus points of the night!
Vydration. Almond Abdi, slipped on a Pudil, (Delightful Doyley!!!!!!!), What the Belleck, Cassetti player, (Men) never read the Manuel Almunia, One size doesn't Fitz hall. Iketchup Anya, Mujangi Bian there done that. Larst place Ekstrand, Franchone Fries, Demba ChaloBah, Neuto(n) town, sherwood Forestieri, Go-to Geijo, Devout Christian Battoccio. umm yeah thats iit, tell me if you think of any more or better ones
Mitch, as Murray was injured on Tues, I assume that he would come in for Yeates - NNW may have meant it differently.
Forestieri is exciting, Neuton blows a bit hot and cold for me. He was a little shaky in Bolton, though was much better against Brighton. I'd like to see more of him before i pass judgement! Abdi didn't have a great game on Tuesday night, but Vydra still impresses. Cassetti couldn't cope with Buckley as we all know, and Anya seems quick but doesn't have a final ball. I'm impressed with them all in different ways, but they're yet to gel, making it difficult to see how things will go in the coming weeks.
So we will look to keep Vydra, Forestieri, Abdi and Pudil. Good call. I think Cassetti is worth a shot. Anya? Reminds me of Macnamee and/or Ainsworth, neither of whom made it. What about him and the others??
Haven't realy seen enough of them. Not sure Casseti and Neuton are good defenders for this league but decent footballers as all the loan players are.
