I manage a sales department with over twenty staff and if any of them performed as badly as Clegg and Jewell have on such a consistent basis they would be out the door! Simples!
Still not answered my question going off point now???? Life is full of grey areas, I've studied both natural and social sciences and looking at the grey bits makes the picture alot clearer, it also provides a more rigid argument!!!
There is no question to answer as far as Jewell is concerned! The only question now is who do we replace him with? Jewell is a dead man walking!
Ok so you have a team of 20 people so I assume you have a boss above you. For argument sake your boss told you the company was in a difficult financial position so you had to make 5 members of your team redundant BUT thats not all. You have to both make these redundancies and increase sales to get the company back onto the black. If you failed would that be your fault for failing to adhere to your bosses wishes or his fault for failing to give you the tools required to do your job.
I asked a question because you were disagreeing with me and I wondered if it was just because it was me who wrote it and I write some positive things about PJ that is why you disagreed with it rather than properly reading it and talking specifically about the points. So I ask again what do you specifically disagree with in that post I wrote about PJ??? (bloody hell it's like watching Paxman and Howard all over again!!)
I don't deal in hypotheticals just facts and the facts are that my company has enjoyed strong sales growth over the past few years even in the depths of this recession. As far as Jewell is concerned a lot of the mistakes that have been made are of his own making and the buck stops with him!
God Strewth.. Give Me Strength! I'm not going to analyse every single line of your posts! I want Jewell out and you don't its as simple as that!
You deal in plenty of them when trying to make your own points valid. Only 10 posts ago you said Keane wouldnt have got us into this state (somewhat hypothetical wouldnt you say). Im guessing that you realise the point I was making and by actually answer this hypothetical question you would actually blame your boss (ie Evans/ Clegg) rather than yourself (ie jewell) The stupid thing is that it actually would only be 1 tiny bit of your argument against Jewell that would be under question. You would still have tatical niavity and countless other things you could use against him but as you say you are so black and white that you cant admit that a tiny amount, no matter if it was even 1% of what he is doing may be good or outside of his control.
Talking about this kind of stuff. Perhaps me going off topic a bit. I've taken over a few projects that have when I've got them been a mess and various companies/people have had these projects over the years and not put the building blocks in place and it took me ages to sort the problems out, infact sometimes you have to just accept that things take time, sometimes this means taking a few hits along the way where you feel like you are just not progressing anywhere and on the surface people think you are taking the project backwards. Infact sometimes if things are really bad you have to make short term decisions just to keep the project going, these aren't ideal but you have to take them. Then a year or so on the plan starts to bear fruit and not only that it is sustainable because all the building blocks have been put in place!!! The problem is especially in football and in real life also people aren't prepared to put those building blocks in place and suffer a few years of perhaps stagnation for things to come out more successful and sustainable at the end of it!! IMO this is part of the problem of why the world went into recession to much short term gain because times were good, no building blocks. I hope amongst all this you can see what I am trying to get at??
No but I asked a question because you criticised me after one of my posts. But your reply to me felt like you hadn't actually read my post (like many replies seem to) and just because I said some positives about PJ you saw that and criticised me for defending him. So again in that post you replied to, what do you actually disagree with???
Nice point PTC but I don't see many building blocks put in place by Jewell so far! All he is doing is rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic. No more loans he said and what do end up with? 3 loans so far plus emergency loans for CB cover. I don't see many building blocks there!
So you see no building blocks what so ever being put in place, none at all?? I think there are plenty of building blocks being put in place (we need more) but they are there more so than any time in the ME era. Noone ever said no loans and my post hinted towards you sometimes have to make short term decisions whilst you put the building blocks in place!! Still not answered my question???
We do now have a fairly young squad that could be the core for a few years which is an improvement from last season IMO. Also it does appear that T.Smith is getting alot of grief again after proving himself(to me anyway) a capable defender during the second half of last season he is prone to making mistakes but thats part of the learning process i have not seen much of Chambers so i can't say if he is any good but we all know we need to get someone in either short term or view to longer term. Although we have 3 loans ATM i think that Murphy is more or less our player as he is here till his contract is up so if we want him there is a good chance we could sign him, Luongo sounds like a good short term addition and as for N'daw i don't know much either not heard any reports how he got on. I now think that Jewell has had long enough and if he was let go i would not be unhappy but if he does turn things around i will be equally happy, i for one never want the superblues to lose but it is inevitable that we will lose sometimes(to much over the last decade) and i do think Jewell is on his final throw of the dice. I think we should move for Mowbray.......................................................and play him with Smith............
good summary WCP. I dont think I have ever seen you write more than 1 line before but think you should do so more often.
I think jewell haters is pretty harsh, its more that we just think he is carp at being our manager. For example; http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/21479/jewell-wont-be-rushed-into-panic-signing
Give it up Warky as you aint gonna win! The problem i have with you guys is that you are never wrong. You say you see where Jewell has gone wrong but always counter it with a positive. Instead of saying ' Jewell screwed up' you say ' Jewell screwed up BUT.........' Also ptc you say i contradict myself but how long wa it before you wanted Roy out? Yet you want a worse manager in Jewell to be given more time! Oh and dont say he is not worse than Roy because the stats speak fo themelves!

I would rather see Jewell succeed than fail as I don't want to have to keep changing managers, but I don't have any confidence in him. People say we are playing better football now, but is it good football or just better than the anti-crap played under Keane. Results show that we got a lot more draws with Roy but man have we took some tonkings with PJ at the helm. I'm not going to blame PJ for Delaney going, he said himself that Damien didn't want to be here and if that's the case then he's better off gone, I am going to blame him for failing to bring someone in though.
Spanish - I think I am in the majority now that want Jewell out so I'm not really bothered about what the minority think!
