Okay we didn't win the title in 2009, but we did get revenge on Wayne Rooney who spent the eve of the game telling the media how much he hates Liverpool. We got our own back by taking his side apart, and inflicting the biggest beating they had recieved in years prior to the 1-6 thrashing inflicted on them by Manchester City. 3000 Liverpool fans singing ''Rafa's cracking up'' was pretty sweet too. It was a wonderful week for Andrea Dossena, scoring against Real Madrid and their feeder club in the same week!!!
I'm sure most will remember that 3-3 draw back in the nineties,3 down after about 20 minutes. Young Cloughie pulled 2 back with 'Razor' Ruddock equalising late on.Crazy game.
Surely they'd choose a win that actually mattered? Like the one Bluff mentioned in 04. Without that win you'd have had no CL in 04/05, and thus no CL win! Or the one KPR mentioned from 1995, that helped Blackburn beat us to the title. For me it's the 1-0 at Anfield in 2007. Kept us ahead of Chelsea and helped break Mourinho thus paving the way for another five years of success. The game was ****, but the result was perfect
When was that game where we twatted you for 90 minutes and then someone you brought on as a sub scored the winner in injury time (shock, horror). All the mancs in the pub complained when he came on as well I can't remember his name.
Aye, but that just makes it all the sweeter. All the Liverpool fans in the pub claiming they were going to stuff us and celebrating when Scholes got sent off, then laughing when we mixed things up by bringing on O'Shea. Then Reina dropped a clanger (for a world class keeper he sure does that a lot and O'Shea smashed it into the roof of the net. You could see the tears in the eyes of the Liverpool fans, knowing we'd just taken a huge stride towards reclaiming the title
How's the book going Swarbs? You've had it so long now I can't remember what it's called or who it's by.
Arbeloa and Alonso...? Prior to that, McManaman...? Owen...? Nice side step I'm not a massive fan of bacon. I'd much rather have a burger If you are thinking of the result only then yes, of course. However, I was concentrating purely on the game Surprised a lot of Man Utd fans aren't mentioning the 1996 FA Cup final and those dreaded white suits
We were robbed Jonesey. That should have been our treble, until Greenhoff got in the way of a shot going 30 yards wide
Scousers, would you take a win against United and then only 3 points from your next 5 games of 10 points from your next 5 games and a loss v United? If you could choose.
