His contract runs out next summer and he's said he won't be signing a new one. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go for under £10M in January due to his age and contract situation.

So glad Pacheco has finally got his chance. Hopefully Downing isn't picked ahead of him, personally I'd like to see a team of:

    -------------Reina-------------
    Kelly-Carra-Coates-Robinson
    -----------Sahin---------------
    -----Henderson-Suso-------
    Pacheco-------------Assaidi-
    -----------Yesil----------------

Which would leave this for United:

    -------------Reina------------------
    Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
    -------------Allen-------------------
-----Gerrard---Shelvey----------- (Don't know if Shelvey should play vs United, who else could though?)
    -Suarez--------------Sterling-----
    -------------Borini------------------

Though if we can get Sahin fit, he should play in Allen's DMC role, moving Allen up the pitch where he can do some pressing in the final third as well as that beautiful forward pass he knows how to do.

    My 11s

    Team v Suiss

    Reina
    Kelly Carra Coates Robbo
    Hendo Shelvey/Sahin
    Assaidi Pacheco Downing
    Morgan

    subs,jones,wilson,skrtel,yesil,suso,allen,cole

    Team v Mancs

    Reina
    Jonno Skrts Agger Jose
    Allen Stevie Shel/Sahin
    Sterling Suarez Borini

IMO Gerrard,Suarez,Johnson,Agger,Sterling shouldnt even travel for the suiss game. All these pick up injuries and flying/travelling contributes to that , bar Suarez and he is too importnat to our League game, and Sterling needs a rest

Based on the Echo, I think the team will be:

    Jones

    Enrique (boost match fitness)
    Coates
    Carragher/Wisdom
    Flannagan

    Sahin
    Henderson
    Suso?

    Assaidi
    Yesil
    Pacheco/Downing

Think this is pretty close, I would say he may pick Morgan with Yesil on the bench

Would like to see Pacheco start ahead of Downing but I think BR will want some senior experience in the front 3.

There's been a lot of talk about 'fast tracking' Yesil so I think he may pip Morgan. Morgan has impressed me though - it's early days but I saw some good traits in his first match against Hearts; looked technically sound, worked hard, surprisingly quick, and always in the box and in the right positions.

Defo the right decision to rest the senior lads, especially away from home IMO, the League is the massive priority

Does anyone else think that Gerrard should start in the middle of the front three?

I dont, his form has been poor this season for us, but hes played well in the England games..He justs needs to gel and find his rhythm with other players, he needs to adapt to having less touches on the ball too, instead of 4 touches before passing, it should be maximum of 2.Barcelona are a one off which is why they can play with a false 9, we dont dominate possesion enough yet, once we start having 75% possesion every game then maybe we could think about a false 9.But at the moment our main problem is we dont have a number 9, not the fact we dont have a false 9

I would love to see Gerrard playing in a more advanced position because:

    a) He can score goals, and he is a good finisher.
    b) He is ruining our midfield.

Definately - plus he's one of the few players in our team that can head the ball with power and accuracy.

His performances have been on the decline over the past 3 years so he shouldn't be playing in the midfield. I do however feel he can play a big part in the front 3.

If Gerrard plays in the front three it doesnt have to be as a false 9.

    We could go narrow:

    -------Gerrard-------
    -Saurez------Borini---

    Gerrard wide:

    -Gerrard------Sterling-
    --------Suarez--------

Or try him as a striker. Rafa said he could see Gerrard moving to a striker role as he got older.

As a striker. Suarez is infinitely better suited to an outside position.

Would perhaps like to see Gerrard play on the right of a front 3 perhaps sometime, but not against United where we shouldnt be experimenting and not tonight v Young Boys when he should be rested. Maybe v Norwich away or pehaps even better the League game after that at home v Stoke.

I think the best time to try it out though is when Lucas returns

Pacheco and Suso in the squad.....Awesome.

Just really hope BR gets the blend right so that the players work well together rather than it lookin like a collection of individuals all trying to get first team football.

Obviously would like to see Dani and Suso get at least a half, would also like to see Yesil get a game.

Dont know if Ngoo has travelled, but if he has would like to see how he fits in if he gets some time.

Come on Dani, Come on Suso!!!! Take your opportunities and impress....Give brendan a real headache!!

Luckily we should have a good MF which will give opportunities to the gifted attacking players we will have in the team.....
