I think I've just figured why I'm not particularly big fans of Perez and Kobayashi; they drive for such a boring team! They're never in the news and the key people in the team just have no understanding of the words 'identity' or 'personality' or 'fun' or 'innovative' and so on... And even the livery is a great summary of what Sauber is: dull, black and white. And for me I think it gives a bad reflection on the drivers. Am I the only one who thinks like this?

Probably. What do you think they should do to get into the news more?

I think they could be a bit more involved like Lotus or Red Bull in charities and fundraising events to help freshen up their image, E.g. the Red Bull faces on their cars at Britain. Definitely think they need a new livery.

    Have attention seeking drivers.

More to the point, they get on with their work quietly and so effectively, kudos to them. They are on the up.

They have one of the smaller budgets on the grid, fundraising for charities is all well and good but I would guess that there first priory is to get enough money to keep racing.

I personally think they have done a great job and come across as a well run and profession race team, you’re right they don’t seem to want to get their name in the papers, or websites every 5 minutes, they just want to race. I see that as a positive and not a negative.

Yeah, the livery's a bit dull. At least it has sponsors now though, unlike when they first re-hit the grid in 2010 <laugh>

No. They are probably my 2nd favourite team on the grid.

They have two of the most exciting young drivers on the grid who have very different driving styles and they are challenging the top teams and beating them at certain races, I wouldn't call that boring!

I had never really thought about it. Yes, the livery's really dull and aside from being the only team with a female principal, little about them stands out; they're very low-key in that respect. However, their drivers are exciting and Sauber do their talking on the track.

Rather than boring, I'd call them a softly-softly team.

Sauber are brilliant. They frequently take gambles on strategy, they use Ferrari engines and they have two good drivers who know how to overtake.

With a bigger budget I think they could challenge for wins easily. Although I feel they would have ditch Kobayashi and maybe replace him with someone like Massa. They are a midfield team so don't expect them to be in the spotlight much unless one of their drivers are leaving.

<ok> even in the days of Diniz I liked Sauber. Peter runs a tight ship, hasn't shied away from a foray into sportscars and smokes an awesome cigar

Sauber act and race with dignity. Peter Sauber is an enthusiast and not a business person or someone who feels the need to come onto camera every 5 mins to boost their own profile/ego. He has been involved in racing for well over 40 years and was already a revered and respected team owner long before he came into F1. Christian Horner should call him 'sir'.

Sauber give a lesson in how the other teams should conduct themselves, if F1 was truly a sport. Instead F1 is a circus, so as they have no razzmatazz, controversry, fallouts, etc etc they are considered boring!?

The fact that Peter Sauber stepped in after BMW left and the Arabian funding failed to exist just to keep the team running shows you the sort of man he is. <ok>
