Right, obviously this weekends result wasn't the best, and this forum went a bit mad with various drama queens pretty much saying our season is over. As Adkins has said, the season realistically for us starts now! Info: Southampton v Aston Villa (3pm) Referee: J Moss Assistants: S Burt, M Scholes Fourth Official: A Bates Last time out: Aston Villa 2-0 Swansea - Villa secured their first win of the season against a Swansea side who have played excellently in the first few weeks. Good result for them. Arsenal 6-1 Southampton - (we all know what happened...) Anyway onto this weeks fixture: My Score Prediction: SAINTS 3-2 Aston Villa - A mix and match game of so many chances much like the MNF between Everton and Newcastle last night. I think it will be a very end to end game. An exciting advertisement for football! My Team: Sta. 11: Davis; Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Fox; Davis, Schneiderlin, Cork; Ramirez, Lambert, Lallana Subs: Gazzaniga, Richardson, Seabourne, Ward-Prowse, Puncheon, Mayuka, Rodriguez One last thing I would ask is that ALL SAINTS FANS get St. Mary's bouncing on Saturday and get right behind the team! All this pathetic moaning needs to be put behind for good! Let's get the place buzzing!! COYR!
Just cut this from my previous post I've got my ticket for the game! Going to sing my self hoarse cheering on the team! We are going to win 4-2 on saturday against Villa COYR's!!!!!!!!! Hatrick for Lambert and 1 for Lallana. Come everyone we need to support our team!

No punch in the squad??? My oh my. Wasnt at the Arsenal game but Dad who could make it said Punch was easily our best player and hes a neutral so doesnt have his favourites etc. Also he was just superb against United I think he definitley deserves a start against Villa.
Punch should be in the squad but I thought he was too slow against Arsenal and made the wrong decisions. Too often trying to do something clever rather than a quick pass. Having said that, he's been one of our best performers all season so I'd start him. Cork won't start after having been out for a while. Prediction 2-2
I think Saints will win 3-1, with Ramirez scoring 1 and creating another. Got my ticket for this one, plus the Wednesday game on Tuesday so increasing my loyalty points.
Starting 11: Davis Clyne Fonte Yoshida Fox Ward-prowse Schneiderlin Davis Ramirez Rodriguez Lallana Subs: Gazzaniga, Shaw, Seaborne, Chaplow, Puncheon, Mayuka, Lambert Score prediction: 1-1, Ramirez to score in the first half and Villa to equalise in the second.
I think Villa will play us like Wigan - stifle the game and look to hit us on the break. Confidence must be low in our back-four and SKD looks a little less than 'super' at the moment. I think it will be a nervous game for us; added to which we cannot hold a lead going into the last 20 mins; so Villa will fancy their chances right up to the final whistle. So, either 1-1 or 1-2 to Villa.
Count me in the 'start Ramirez' brigade. When Puncheon plays a simple game -- namely, when he remembers that his best role is taking a quick dribble to his left and hitting in-swinging crosses to the back post, as he did to great effect against City -- he's very useful. But against a Villa team likely to play on the counter, his tendency to cut aimlessly into the middle and surrender possession is rather scary. Prediction: 2-1 Saints, including the first Lambert penalty of the season, and 15 minutes of pure terror to end the match.
I'll be interested to see how Ramirez does. Obviously, every opposition manager this season is gonna give the "rough him up" order. Let's see how he handles it.
