I've just been browsing WACCOE and seeing what the thoughts of Leeds fans were. A lot of arrogance, which to be fair - and despite the tendency to wind the slower members of the City board up - you don't get on here. It seems the majority of the posters are the stuck-in-2001 types, and some of the comments suggest they think they're above learning anything about the other teams in the division... My favourite was the bloke who said we're average and in a false position, as we've not played anyone decent (apart from beating Brighton and Bolton, and outplaying Blackburn at Ewood Park before losing 1-0). I think we've more than shown that we're capable of matching the best teams in the division. We won't be in the top-two come April, and it'll take one hell of an effort to get a play-off place - but there's no reason we can't.
Can anyone explain that to me? I mean, any other 'keeper in that position would be knocking mud off his boots on the posts and all that crap. Amos (remember he's a classy Man United lad) simply moved the ball from where Diouf wanted it taking to where he wanted to take it. He would have done that if it was the 1st minute, it was nothing to do with time-wasting. I'm sure the rules say that the keeper can choose which side (or presumably anywhere in the 6-yard box) to take his goal kicks from (unlike corners which are decided by the officials), so if the ref is booking him for simply taking up the option to choose where to put it, isn't that just bollocks? Thinking about it, despite my thread on the City board, that was the cleanest I've seen Leeds play in a good while, only one horrific tackle on Faye and only a small amount of almost ironic chanting about the ref despite the favours he inevitably did for you. Actually Becchio clattered Bruce after the ball had gone once, but that's a given with him. Cheers for the positive comments Kisnorbo/Exodus
Sure. I did not see the incident you are discussing. The Laws of the Game (the League has rules of competition) provide that the goal kick can be taken from anywhere in the 6 yard area (same for free kicks in that part of the pitch for the defending team). However, moving the ball once the defence has placed it is viewed as time wasting. I hope that helps.
I put Hull down as a top 4 team, you have a board that backs the manager and although I still can't stand him, he (Bruce) has managed to bring in some exciting and quality looking players. Leeds fans are hurting at the moment at what is going on behind the scenes, or what isn't going on as the case might be. Home games where we get outplayed are going to hurt even more because we know we should be competing with every other team in this division so the Banter is going to sometimes go OTT
A guy on the Hull forum has posted a link to the goals http://footballdiscussion.net/2012/...highlights-leeds-hull-city-september-18-2012/ 1) Yes was outside the area but a lot closer than I had imagined 2) Defending by us for all three goals was diabolical
The ref did his best to help Leeds out, but fortunately, it wasn't enough. It obviously wasn't a penalty, it was bloody annoying as it was right in front of us, but hey-ho. Can't complain about the Amos card, he'd been warned and took one for the team.
Ben Amos wouldn't have got booked if the ref hadn't been so bad all game, had some making up to do with the Leeds fans so booked him, he had taken all his goalkicks from the same spot so wasn't really timewasting, but agree he is a scum ****
Comedy defending was the phrase someone else used - and we managed one legit goal after about 89 minutes, the penalty was outside (though I would not blame the ref for getting it wrong, I had to watch the replay a few times to be sure)
