Top 5 will be, in no particular order: Senna, Fangio, Schumacher, Prost, and Pedro Diniz.

Moss will be next, I'm surprised Moss is going to be ahead of Jackie Steward.

I still think Clark will be No.1

Moss above Stewart is a strange one. Probably.

Agree with the sentiment that thought he would be higher but then the BBC team do love Moss rather a lot in spite of his lack of championships.

Championships aren't the only measure of a great driver. If it were, the Anti-Schumacher crew would have to concede that he's the greatest. :p

I would have imagined Stewart would have been higher than Moss though.

True, which will be their argument.

I'm still not sure who I expect to be no.1, it will obviously be Senna or Schumi.

I don't wish to be seen as pedantic, but we really should be spelling such a great man's name correctly. Sir Jackie's surname is …
    Stewart !

I disagree. Even the sycophantic BBC will not put Schumacher higher than third. And both Clark and Fangio should both be ahead of Senna too! But I've avoided contributing to this thread for a very good reason: it's only ever going to be more contentious as the numbers come down*.

*In my opinion, Schumacher's name should have appeared about now.

I stopped commenting on the list with regards to my personal list of favourites a long time ago cosi, I'm just commenting on it with regards to my predictions of the BBC now. <laugh>

I'm still not convinced that some of the employees polled for this countdown are particularly big F1 fans, as shown by the surprisingly high rankings of Vettel, Alonso and Hamilton. With Schumacher's dominance so fresh in the memory he's got to be up there surely. As for Senna, to put it tactfully and fill my pop culture quota simultaneously: "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." (Naming no names!) I can't see Senna being below 3rd - but then I expected Sir Jackie to be in the top 5.

#6 should be Prost or Moss... which means it'll probably turn out to be Tora Takagi.

Michael Schumacher is the Best. Now let the war begin but i won't change my mind. 2nd 3rd 4th etc best after him who knows but Michael is the man. But i guess its a personal choice and will vary from fan to fan. How about who's the worst there's ever been <devil>

Cosi, in a more detailed manner, I think Michael returning probably has influenced where he will be on the rankings, taking into account his first career, which was highly fruitful, his second career sees him return to an ever more competitive field with much, much more younger drivers.
I is a test of strength and mental health for Michael, whether it be just the single pole and podium, I can't help but feel he has done the F1 world proud by getting back into the cockpit, and staying put amid the rumours.
Giving his teammate a much bigger challenger later into his career Mk2, Michael may not have been able to show this in the standings, but by giving the ROC another shot, he may just stay to fight another season.

So in simple terms, Michael returning has increased F1's followers respect for him, maybe not yours anyway.
