My brother served him face to face in the bank he works in, and said that he looked fit, slim and raring to go.
Wonky this is the best thread for weeks! Being completely partisan about this it does look to the (not very) neutral eye that the lad has put a bit of weight on. He lets himself go a bit over the close season, Taraabt does the same. He also looks a bit slow and uninterested? I'm not a seasoned Holt watcher but no doubt the fatlad will do the business again this season. Having witnessed first hand the Norwich v QPR match he is still able to fall over as professionally as before!!
He was the victim Dave! Poor old Clint couldn't stand up with your Sumo wrestler clambering all over him!! Personally i don't think strikers ever really lose that eye for goal, they just go through lean periods. Sadly I have no doubt that he will come good as much as it pains me to say it.
wba 2 qpr 3, what's the view down in the bush on your striking options? i see AJ is out for the season - doesn't that leave you with Cisse and Zamora only (is mackie a striker?)
Funny how two people can view the same incidents and come to opposing conclusions, I would say Hill was the offender at least 80% of the time, on another day, with a different ref, he would have received 3 yellow cards IMHO
I'd personally red card every player that dares to wear blue and whote on the hallowed Carrow Road turf, but thats just me.
Well its the subject of much debate on our board but to be honest we have Mackie, Taraabt, Hoilett, Ephraim who can all play up front plus I reckon Granero can do the job too. Its only until January when no doubt we will sign another 26 midfielders and Del Piero Adel & Hoilett can seem to buy a game under Hughes so I guess the upside of AJ's injury is that they will start now.
Now for my fourpenneth worth. Notwithstanding the fact that Holt may or may not have put on a few pounds, I have always thought that to be held to ransom for a new contract by him was wrong. Don't get me wrong, Holt will always be a Canary legend for what he has done for us, but no one man is bigger than the club, I said at the time we should have bitten Wet Sham's hands off if they were really offering £5M for him and I stand by that. I hope I'm proved wrong and I will hold my hands up and post on here if I am, but IMHO Holt will do well to get anywhere near double figures this season. At 32 he possibly had one more good year but he ain't Didier Drogba and an improved three year contract was foolish. There is no room in football for sentiment especially in today's game. I'm ready to be lambasted for my comments but it's just my opinion and as I say I really want to be proved wrong. Before a ball was kicked I said we NEEDED to splash out on a striker and we never did, we've started the season with an aging talisman, Steve 'the stunned slug' Morison and a diminutive albeit fast tryer in Jackson. I'm truly amazed that I seem to be the only one who's concerned by this ?
People moaning about Holt on here seem to have very short memories! Now I'm going to use my old car as a metaphor to illustrate my point! Every cold morning I used my car I defrosted it by turning on the engine for 15 minutes before I left. However, this didn't help the pedals. It usually took driving a couple of miles with excessive use of the pedals before they worked smoothly and after that the car worked brilliantl! Every cold morning was the same problem with the same solution and same outcome. PMSL Your joking right??? You cannot be serious......you are using your car example to illustrate fatty holts loss of form and him looking like a pub player...... give us another example please as these are so funny..
We will never know the reason why what happened over the summer happened. But he is still our player and we want him and the team to do well. Criticism doesn't help.
