Evening All I thought I'd hijack the Daily Thread, firstly because I've never done one before and secondly because I'm off to Yarmouth (a track I've never been to) so was keen on getting the early view of you flat experts. I did the card earlier and my very limited knowledge came up with: 2.30 Supernova Heights - has some very good form in the book and earned a rating of 80, the newcomers will have to be fairly decent if any of them are to get past her, I'll be keeping a close eye on the Stoute runner in the market as he saddled last years winner. 4.00 Sirius Prospect - again some very useful form in the book (little over 2l behind Black Caviar at Ascot) and if produces anything like that performance he'll win this a long way. 5.00 Willie Wag Tail - another shortie but this one was backed into favouritism but managed to find plenty of trouble in Sir Graham Wade's race at Goodwood and that one proved last week how good when winning a valuable handicap at the Leger meeting. Good luck all
I also fancy Willie Wag Tail. He appears a class above these. The stand out form is with Sir Graham Wade but a slight reservation is that virtually all the horses in that race were hampered. No idea what happened there. Also has never encountered ground with firm in the description, so a slight query there. I still think he should win and tempted to have him in my £10k Betting Experiment but the 11/8 currently available isn't exactly generous.
Supernova Heights is a nice type but one or two strike me off the page, especially the Varian and Chapple-Hyam runners. I still think Supernova Heights might prefer 7f and think she could pop up at a real good price in a handicap/listed event over that distance.
2.10 Angel Grigio - Fitting of headgear is very interesting and the yard had a couple of winners today. Hopefully be a nice EW price.
Hello Nass. Where have you been? I had £1,000 on Chesterfield to beat WW in our L2 Betting Comp. Easy money. Wycombe are useless this year.
Cuba old boy. I wouldn't be backing Chesterfield again though, we need to get the manager sorted soon.
Good to see Nass back, Glee to have a very good day at Thirsk hopefully im there to see him clean up (again) Stay Frosty
Just holidaying Ron, a bit of sightseeing and working out how to start a revolution in the workplace. Viva la Revolucion and all that. Wonderful place to visit if you ever get the chance.
Sky Garden looks a very nice filly in the first at Yarmouth. Out of Acclamation, dam half brother to very useful Sentaril. Went well lto in similar conditions, will improve again to take this.
Best bet of the day for me is 5/4 for arsenal to beat Montpellier away in the champions league tonight.Montpellier were suprise winners of the french league last season but have started badly no doubt due to loss of their main striker Olivier Giroud who signed with the gunners.Arsenal have played some excellent football in their last two games and even though they are away from home I expect them to win this comfortably.
Hello all, trust we're in good humour & better form. Just a small e/w patent for me today, for no form reasons at all. Thi 2.10 Maid A Million 12/1 Yar 3.40 Conry 16/1 Thi 5:40 Availed Speaker 25/1 More in hope than expectation. G/L to all having a dabble.
Acclamation is also the sire of Harbour Watch (now retired to stud after looking the best 2yo last year before an injury halted his career).
I should say, SG is dam half brother to Sentaril incase that looked like i was still talking about acclamation.
One from me today runs in the 4.10 Thirsk NOBLE ALAN 5/1, withdrawn last week when the ground may have been against him, the horse is rated quite highly by the trainer and should go close in this company.
Meeting In Paris, is an interesting runner in the first at Thirsk and holds an entry in the 2YO Trophy at Redcar currently 8/1 and may be worth a little EW money
