What will Steve Bruce opt for tonight? Personally, I would set out to play exactly the same way as we did on Saturday. Let the opposition worry about us, rather than us worry about them. I feel 6 points from the next 2 games is definitely achievable.
The best thing about the 5-3-2 is that it's adaptable. If necessary we could have five in defence for most of the game, but if we get the opportunities we suddenly have five in midfield supporting the strikers. I think it's a masterstroke by SB and the players get to play the same system every week until it becomes instinctive.
Yeh thats right, stick with whats worked so far however brucie will really earn his bonus when in the middle of a match its not working and then he changes it to rescue a result.
Stick. It will be interesting to see what happens if/when teams learn how to counter it more successfully. Bruce makes the point that he is playing a system that suits the players but the formation does put a heavy burden on the wing backs. With Dudgeon and Elmo we have two players well suited to the role. Rosey is also suited to the system but what about the left if Dudgeon gets injured or suspended? I can't see Dawson having the pace or stamina to play that way, so what is the option? Townsend?
If it ain't broke don't fix it. 3-5-2 has served us well these last few games it seems daft to change it. If it does need changing during a game I think the players we have are flexible enough to adapt to a new system.
No change apart from Evans for Oli(due to injury). Lets go after TWS as they are down to the bare bones player wise. Never have a Hull City side not only had a chance to win another league game there But humiliate them on there own ground. Get after em lads.
He used the 5-3-2 in both of our away games this season, at the time some of us thought it was more cautious than 4-4-2. I see no reason to change things tonight.
From when ive seen other teams play this system in the pait is often 352 at home and 532 away, so no real change just the wing backs been a bit more cautious
Stick and twist. I hope Brucie is savvy enough to know if the opposition can stifle it and swap accordingly. But otherwise, yeah, if TWS can't deal with it, lets hump them. My biggest concern for tonight is, if we do start humping them, they'll try to add to their most fouls committed in the league award they're way ahead in already and we'll end up with injuries. I also hope the away fans do the mauled by the tigers if we knock more than 1 in...
I think he did say he would stick with it, the main worry is whether Evans can step into the role that Oli did for us on Saturday as soon as Evans came on he started looking backwards first rather than forwards and you could see the difference.
What's really good about the system is the way it solves where do we play Koren. Keeps him in the centre with support of two others
